Who is Brian McConnell?

Browsing the interwebs I came across an article yesterday mentioning Brian McConnell appearing at some Citadel Country Spirit USA music festival. It mentions that he was allegedly David Lee Roth's personal assist for over a decade...

So I checked out this guy's personal web site and found this in his "About" section claiming he moved to LA in 96, wrote some music and...:


McConnell spent most of a decade as personal executive assistant to Van Halen front man David Lee Roth. "Dave led by example and taught me all about the 'dos and dont's of rock n roll... but mostly the don'ts!" laughs McConnell. Brian played an instrumental role in the reunion of Van Halen in 2007, and after touring the world with his childhood heroes, he decided to take some time off get back to writing and recording his own songs.

Not a single photo of him and Dave in his gallery... I wonder what "instrumental" role he played in the 2007 VH reunion..?

Says he was Dave's PA and tour manager in 2004 which would have been the Diamond Dave Tour, I don't remember him but that's not saying much. :)

Pretty sure he isn't funding the rock star lifestyle in his video from his music at 1700 YouTube hits, I guess there must be money in motivational speaking or he's still working for rich people.

Lying that you hung with Van Halen is so past the sell date. That's so 1980's. Nobody under 45 gives a rat's ass about Van Halen these days. So this joker can brag to the old people in the bingo parlor all he wants.

Is there any entertainment anymore? Maybe at the indian reservation casinos. I even stopped satellite radio because I got bored with it. Really all we have anymore is propaganda and everyone is too busy trying to ban each other off one platform or another to even give a shit about real art. The problem is there is nobody to market real art anymore. Everything is political now. Maybe we are just going to have to entertain ourselves. Get a couple people together locally. Play some songs and get drunk and high. That's where it all started from.

What sparked my curiosity was the claims that he "played an instrumental role in the 2007 Van Halen Reunion"... Also claims he "toured with his childhood heroes".

That could mean many things... the simple truth may be he had a minimum wage job answering the phones at Roth's talent agent, gathered meeting/appearance appointment dates and had the task of calling Dave to tell him where to be.

I seriously doubt he was part of Azoff's entertainment group and a key negotiator between Roth and the Dutch Pricks™ ironing out tour contracts and appearance logistics.

Another possibility... as Diamond Dave's "Executive Personal Assistant" maybe his job was to babysit Russ, Dave's dog. Take him on his walks and make sure the dog shit got properly handled and Russ didn't come in contact with Ed's annoying, little yapper Kody on the road...

The touring part seems suspicious since we had a lot of behind the scenes stuff published from inside Roth's camp here including tour bus photos of Roth's road crew... there weren't no cheesy white boy's yucking it up in those shots.

I think he worked for VH shortly before David returned..(???), & then became one Davids main assistants during the 2007 Tour....Then went off to start his Country Music carreer. Evidently David helped him out with some of that in some capacity.

David didn't have Russ the dog at that time in '07....nor did Ed have Kody at that point....although I think they did have a different little Pomeranian Dog before Kody....not sure
