Context? This "Post Malone" is not very good. When I brought him up to my younger brother (Who is into modern EDM, Alt. scene) and my friend (into similar stuff) they both just visibly groaned at it.

Most of the people in this crowd were not even ALIVE for "Nine Lives", let alone "Get a Grip", "Pump", etc.

Yet Steven Tyler and co. have a better stage presence than a kid who's supposedly the "future" .

The channel has become irrelevant. t's akin to if someone brought up the name "Kodak", "Polaroid", "K-Mart" to me. They missed entire cultural and music movements by doing EXACTLY what killed FM Radio.

"WELL KIDS LISTEN TO THIS STUFF". They actually generally don't from my experience. None of this stuff is "cool". It's akin to saying to someone from 1991 that they consider "New Kids on the Block" as the coolest thing in music. Hip-hop, Rock, Alternative and Heavy Metal fans would also bristle at that. The same thing is likely to happen in this day and age.

As for the oscars? It blows when you see someone shout about beliefs they barely understand. Just people who feel guilty about being famous so they try to pretend to be "left wing" while doing very little to progress that over all cause. (I say this as somebody who is on the left, politically in this country)

I can at least argue that the films being honored have artistic merit though.
