Fox News' Napolitano Drops Truth Bomb: Cohen Plea Will Lead To Trump's Impeachment

To say that Donald Trump is having a terrible week is an understatement. Now, Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano is adding to the president’s pain by suggesting that the latest guilty plea by Michael Cohen is a step toward impeachment.

During an appearance on Fox News Thursday, Napolitano speculated that the extraordinary development “must sting” President Trump.

“Every time Bob Mueller gets more information like he probably got from Michael Cohen in the past days and weeks,” the legal analyst said. “It creates more work for him to do… because he can’t just take at face value what Cohen or any witness says, he has to corroborate it.”

He continued: “This actually extends the obligations of [special counsel] Bob Mueller, and it extends well into 2019 the existence of his office and his continued investigation.”

According to Napolitano, Mueller’s team “has been going by the book. No leaks, no lies, no exaggeration. Everything he files in court is properly filed and is verified.”

Napolitano later asserted that Cohen’s guilty plea must “sting” President Donald Trump because his attorney, Rudy Giuliani, has attempted to create the public impression that impeachment is “utterly unacceptable.”

“The strategy of the White House has been to deploy a brilliant attorney who’s a household name, Rudy Giuliani,” Napolitano said, “not only as a lawyer, but as a public relations]person for the president, to create the impression among the public that the indictment or the impeachment of Donald Trump is utterly unacceptable.”

“Think of the personal sting here,” he added. “Michael Cohen was not only the president’s personal lawyer, but his confidante. Michael Cohen once said he would take a bullet for the president. He has now pleaded guilty twice, both times involving the president and both times promised to help people who are trying to bring the president down.”

“This must sting the president terribly,” Napolitano concluded.

The election fraud angle seems plausible in the Cohen/Trump circus... but will it be strategically advantageous for the Democratically led House to pull that chain..?

The specifics of this case are most likely not enough of a "high crime" to persuade Congress to remove Trump from office nor force him to resign... So if it plays out resulting in a successful impeachment vote but no removal like what happened with Clinton... that backfired terribly for the Republicans.

Looking at the lack of platform, leadership and utter mess the Democratic party is in right now... Impeachment doesn't appear to be a very smart move...
