AXS TV is airing a condensed overview of 1983's US Festival. At 6:00PM EST is "Heavy Metal Day", so I assume some Van Halen will be in there. Right now is New Wave Day with The Clash, who they noted David Lee Roth called "a garage band", on now...

Don't have cable and SlingTV ended their "Happy Hour" promotion, so I don't have access to that channel. But I hope to Hell their version of the US Festival is better than the complete fucking joke version that is airing on Tubi Tv (https://tubitv.com/movies/525817/us_festival_1983_days_1_3?start=true).

Tubi has condensed the entire three day concert into a 2 hour show. Worst thing about it? Everybody with the slightest passing knowledge of the US Fest knows that the headliners were The Clash, Van Halen, and David Bowie. This fucked up badly edited show had only one Clash song, and ignored Van Halen & Bowie completely.

Not to say there weren't some good performances aired. The "metal day" clips from this version were Judas Priest, Triumph, and the Scorpions, all of whom sounded great. But no Van Halen? Not even the three songs that already were released on some long ago broadcast?? That's just a fucking crime.

So fuck it, I'll just post it here.....

What a shame. Like most hardcore Van Halen fans, I have a boot of the U.S. festival performance. The clarity is not that good. It amazes me that at different points in time, I have seen complete performances from Priest, Motley Crue and Santana but never Van Halen. Trying to figure out why but i would likely be better off trying to solve the Bermuda Triangle. Come to think of it, being a VH fan is like being IN the Bermuda Triangle.
