NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump's return to the campaign trail was designed to show strength and enthusiasm heading into the critical final months before an election that will decide whether he remains in the White House.

Instead, his weekend rally in Oklahoma highlighted growing vulnerabilities and crystallized a divisive reelection message that largely ignores broad swaths of voters — independents, suburban women and people of color — who could play a crucial role in choosing Trump or Democratic challenger Joe Biden.

The lower-than-expected turnout at the comeback rally, in particular, left Trump fuming.

Man, that is one pitiful looking leader of the free world.
Looks more like he's returning from a trip to Las Vegas
with his bros and he's the only one who didn't get lucky...

I see a lot of people saying the Trump campaign were scammed by activist on the other side applying for tickets they didn't want but the same people saying the attendance was so low because no one likes him any more.

Those are two different things surely?

The latest polling is that if there was an election tomorrow the data says he would probably lose but that was the case last time as well.

In a polarized political climate you get polarized information both in the form of news and polls. Yup. It’s a replay of 2016 but 2020 is a bit more spicey.

Yeah, um, Clinton's aggregated average for polls was a +3.2 over Trump in Nov. 2016 which was correct because she won the popular vote and only narrowly lost a few counties in shitholes of Michigan and PA. But other than the fact that Biden is showing a 14 point lead, Trump's economy collapsed because he was a total fuckhead on COVID-19 (and is doubling down on being a fuckhead), and he is motivating lots of black people to vote - yeah it's just like 2016...

It's worth factoring in the insane amounts of gerrymandering going on plus the likely hood of a second wave of Covid making people in urban areas reluctant to stand in line for long times to vote.

80 degrees F is not a flippin heat wave... that's almost chilly here in the South this time of year.

After majority of the polls had Trump losing in 2016 and were flat out wrong... it's really amazing that so much hope and faith is being placed again in polling numbers.

What's the sound to Trump committing political suicide?

Sounds like Obamacare Repeal...

Mike Pence admits 126,000 Americans have died and 2.5 million contracted coronavirus as cases soar and that he only has 'hopes and prayers' that mortality rate will not soar too - but claims there is 'remarkable progress' and DOESN'T wear a mask

Pence and the coronavirus held their first press briefing in two months
Offered 'sympathies and our deepest condolences' to victims and families
'We slowed the spread. We flattened the curve'
He was joined by Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx
'We now have seen cases begin to rise precipitously across the South,' he said
President Trump cancelled a planned trip to his New Jersey, where the governor requires a 14-day quarantine to those who visited hotspots
Pence would not urge people to wear masks, instructing them to follow local authorities
Pressed on Trump campaign rallies, he cited the right to assemble

Asked by DailyMail.com if he's worried the death rate could rise in the next few weeks, Pence replied: '‘Our prayer is it's not the case' [/quote]

I can only think of three reasons Pence is saying this.

a) He is mentally ill
b) He thinks Americans are fucking idiots
c) He thinks he actually has Jedi mind powers - 'These are not the droids you are looking for...'

I think it is probably (c)

Former presidential candidate Herman Cain diagnosed with coronavirus

Businessman, media contributor, and former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has been diagnosed with COVID-19, according to Newsmax TV.

Cain, who is a contributor for Newsmax, was admitted to a hospital Wednesday for treatment for COVID-19.

According to Cain's staff, he is in stable condition and is not on a ventilator, a standard treatment for patients experiencing severe symptoms from the novel virus.

It is unclear where Cain contracted the illness or how many contacts he had been in close proximity with, but the former GOP candidate was seen at a recent rally for President Trump on June 20.

Before running for president, Cain led a successful business career as a chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and was also the CEO of Godfather's Pizza.

Cain's spokesperson released a statement on Twitter saying: "There is no way of knowing for sure how or where Mr. Cain contracted the coronavirus, but we do know he is a fighter who has beaten Stage 4 cancer."

We are sorry to announce that Herman Cain has tested positive for COVID-19, and is currently receiving treatment in an Atlanta-area hospital.

Please keep him, and all who are battling this virus, in your prayers.

a) There wasn't a lot of looting
b) There wasn't a lot of hanging around for hours indoors in close proximity during the looting.

We will see though but early evidence is big rise in COVID in Tulsa but not so much in the protest places.

It's the weirdest thing about all of this - for most of my life you would debate stuff and it would be your opinion verses someone else but you would both argue your idea based on the facts.

Trump and Boris Johnson have come up with this new tactic of completely ignoring facts
