A celebration of one of MANY "messiahs" who were born of a virgin around the 25th of December, who healed the sick, raised the dead, was supposedly killed, but rose again on the third day.

Some of the messiahs preceded Jesus by several thousand years. He was NOT unique, and had no more power to do miracles than any of the other messiahs who preceded him.

Jesus supposedly was married (it would have been HIGHLY unusual if he were not, as a Rabbi in 1st-century Jerusalem), and they had at least a couple of kids. Mary wound up in the South of France, where their bloodline began and thrived over the centuries.

That said, in Renaissance-era paintings, there are numerous paintings of Madonna and child.

These all are depicting their subjects as "holy", as they are shown with the usual Holy Halo. You gots a halo? Somebody thought you wuz something special.

They all forget one thing though. They forgot to put a halo on Little Jebus.

Hey look, the bloodline of Jesus and Mary Magdalene is HOLY, right? People descended from this Power Couple can be considered as gods, no?

Well, I solved the problem with the paintings.

Raining on a parade is a lot of work and effort... it's much more efficient to piss on their leg and tell them it's raining...

It is a pretty good thread although inevitably it goes batshit from time to time, pity some of the joke pics are gone.

I know at least one poster contacted me later to say it had turned them into an atheist. :)
