Diamond Dave has become nothing but an aging, grey haired, pissed off, sniveling, shriveled up meat sack who thinks pissing and moaning is going to get him back in the band. In all the time he has been away from VH you'd think he would maybe do something constructive like write some new songs or learn how to play a musical instrument. Just like in the real world that most of us live in you gotta get better at what you do to survive. All he sings today is "Poor David Lee I been F'd over by Eddie and Sammeeee" As far as playing a musical instrument all he still knows how to play with these days is his little shriveled up organ. :D

For a guy that old you just dont seem to get it. Dave realizes that bands like VAN HALEN come along once in a blue moon. And even less these days. Since no one from the original, i.e. THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN, is either dead or disabled (physicaly at least) its a shame and a sin that they have not gotten over themselves and made more INFUCKINGCREDIBLE music. Dave took the high road FOR YEARS in the 90's, not mentioning the band, and when he did not being derogitory. Shemp Van Halen and his crackhead sister Eddie have never exercised class or diplomacy concerning Dave or their fans. The last 6 years gave us a reprieve from the moronic song writting and half baked , left over JOURNEY tracks that Van Hagar have specialized in!

Hey, I'm a major pre-Hagar VH/DLR fan just like the rest of you. It was awesome while it lasted no doubt. Shit, I was at the US festival in San Berdo and many VH concerts since then. Mostly with DLR up front. I have been both an old and new age VH fan ever since. Early VH will never die for me in my mind... or in my CD collection. But this is 2004. Things change sometimes for better or worse. We just have to accept the way things are, not what we wish they should be. I'm just thankfull I'll be able to reminisce about the good old days when I'm sitting in the 5th row at the VH concert next month and hear the World's best rock guitarist once again, live.

I'm sure in a few short years (and they do go by quickly) when you are an "elderly" 49 YO you'll still be doing the things you can do now... or maybe not.

Initially I was not going to comment further on this site as it seems like a waste of time and opinions but I just had to respond to scottydabodi’s superbly eloquent comments.

I never said I didn’t like Dave. My opinion, in a more civil and non-inflammatory presentation is that if Dave really wanted to hook up with the band again things in BOTH camps needed to change… mostly on Dave’s side. He needs to check his huge ego at the door and make it work. Maybe this can be construed as ass kissing which would be unbecoming for any of these guys. But if they could have just put all the shit behind them and did it for the music it would have worked. Even more importantly is that nobody should try to dominate the show. True, EVH is twisted in many ways but it’s no secret that Dave IS the biggest deterrent to any possible successful reunion. Note that I said successful. Granted, DLR was great in the early years but can any of you honestly admit to the fact that Dave has been and will always be a big pain in the ass to work with? I know I’m going to get verbally butt-fucked by many of you now, I guess it’s just the nature of this site. At least all of you are awake and on the edge of your seats and I have your attention don’t I? Why do you think my original post was so nasty? Hagar had virtually same solo commercial success Roth did post 1996.

They played to the same size crowds, and none of their albums even went gold.

And Hagar wasn't exactly a solo superstar, or even close to it, prior to joining up with Ed in the mid 1980s. Anyone claiming otherwise is just full of shit.
