Fuck it. Vote NO on both bills. Giveaways to corporations and goddamned useless toll roads are not INFRASTRUCTURE in the first fucking place.

If you don't know fucking history well enough to know that FDR saved the fucking country from the Great Depression with huge ACTUAL infrastructure projects, then you have no business being in goverment at all.

MSDNC rarely allows any ACTUAL Democrats on the air anymore. Thankfully, this is an exception.......

We desperately need term limits in congress. People just grow old there and get rich and are more self-servants than public servants.

I don't know the details on this but do progressives have a majority in Congress?

You Democrat guys seem to get very angry with Pelosi or Biden but the truth of it is you don't have the votes so they can only help people that need it by paying off the really corrupt.

Like the UK you are fucked by a broken system that all the other western democracies learned from and made much better but we can't change because to change it doesn't suit the people who benefit from it and they are in charge.

We're permanently fucked. The only possible solution is maximising devolution of power which in the case of the US may lead Texas to be indistinguishable in terms of social policy from Saudi Arabia if it isn't already.

The Congressional Progressive Caucus has 96 current members, 94 of whom are House members, along with Bernie Sanders in the Senate (he founded the caucus, of course) and non-voting delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton of Washington DC. As such, it's the largest caucus in Congress. So, they are technically a majority.

Now having said that, there are some people who claim membership in that caucus, but don't exactly act like it. Pelosi herself used to be a member, for example, as did Barney Frank, a known shill for the banking industry.

Last count I heard though, there were at least 50 members who were committed to voting against the "bipartisan" (corporatist) bill, if the reconcilation bill was not passed first. That was the deal Pelosi made, and she should live up to it.

So 1 guy in the Senate?

Yes, sadly most of the so-called "Democrats" in the Senate are corporatist cowards. Including the two from my state Patty Murray (D - Boeing) and Maria Cantwell (D - Amazon) :(

Not the infrastructure bill, but the debt ceiling thing.

"Professional" writers over at CNN. What a joke.

In a speech from the White House, Biden put the blame on Republicans for refusing to join with Democrats in raising the debt limit to pay for past debts incurred in the past.
