Looking into this it will all probably fizzle out. Dominion is only an $80 million company so how can it prove $1.6 billion damages from Fox? They'll probably win a little and Murdoch will scapegoat a couple of employees and move on.

Reagan removing the Fairness Doctrine was bad, but Clinton passing the Telecommunications Act of 1996 was much worse. FAUX Noise literally could not have existed before that (and Newt Gingrich giving Murdoch a fast track to US citizenship). CNN existed, but it was owned by one guy named Ted Turner, not a succession of mammoth corporations. And NBC was owned by General Electric by then, which wasn't ideal, but far better than the Scumcast oligopoly, which itself was a relatively small cable company in Pennsylvania before 1996. Same with Sinclair Broadcasting, and Clear Channel radio, which ended up syndicating 24 right wing extreme radio nationwide. The only thing the Fairness Doctrine really did back in the day was if a radio or TV station took an editorial stance on one side of a political issue, the opposing side would have the opportunity to be heard on that same station. I can vaguely remember "point/counterpoint" dueling editorials on the local TV news shows back in the 1970s. Of course, being a kid at the time, I probably didn't pay that much attention to most of them.

It's so much worse than most people realize. Whataboutery about CNN v Fox or whatever is just inane. If you go to a thread on the internet about Ukraine have you noticed all the African names supporting Russian fake news? A lot of the time that's China who are now offering these countries free media deals with the rule that they can only take their source of info.
