Don't blame me. I voted for Bernie.

Enabling fossil fuel production domestically is needed from both an economic and long term security strategy... it's just plain foolish to think we can quickly drive the conversion to green energy sources by restricting oil production domestically.

"Green" energy sources. That's the funniest thing I've heard in awhile.

My Son just ordered the new EV Porsche and a new EV Tesla X. It's costing him $12k to have the chargers installed at his house. His brother in law has a Tesla X and has to go to a charging station 20 miles from his house because DTE cannot seem to get the power needed to run the charger, to his garage right now. This whole "green" EV bullshit is one of the biggest scams to ever be perpetuated by our Government.

Every Tesla I've ever been in is fucking awful, clanky ticky plasti-crap. Hybrids are a better option but can't find one I like and maybe I'm wrong, but automotive emissions seem like a very small part of the problem. As far as Gore and the inevitable attacks on Biden, there really isn't much choice because Conoco-Philips owned the rights and could only be delayed and not stopped without significant legislation being passed in congress and that ain't gonna happen...

Well, one hybrid I like:

One of the annoying things about Musk is he never acknowledges that without literally billions of US tax payers cash grants and subsidies there wouldn't be a Tesla and very probably no SpaceX.

Trumps fortune before he lost it was all inherited money built on government subsidies his old man managed to work out the system, i.e your parents and grandparents taxes. Now it's just laundered money stolen from Russian tax payers.

He also didn't invent Tesla, there was another guy as with many of these things like Facebook he usurped and got rid of, then blackballed for years.

In fact there were five cofounders of Tesla...

You're right... there's really no such thing as a "green energy source" because it requires massive amount of fossil fuel generated energy to produce and operate everything that's labeled "green" or even renewable energy. It's a total scam...

Yeah, um, a false comparison. Yes fossil fuel is needed and will be for the foreseeable future, and some "environmentalists" go to far and reach for too much. But the black and white misnomers are also a "scam". It perpetuates the idea that nothing can be done and that we all driving fucking smog gunning carbureted 1965 V-8's or electric cars. It misses the point regarding slowing global warming and one can still reduce the use of fossil fuels while still relying on it. Do you really think it's a "scam" to insulate a 1950's era skyscraper using new "green" technologies including revolutionary digital windows that control sunlight to improve both heating and cooling. Saving upwards of 50% on energy bills isn't fucking controversial!

In any case I think our only hope will be cold fusion...

I will go green when Al Gore moves into a yurt and gives up his private jets and big SUV’s for a bicycle.

You're correct too... good stewardship in updating older infrastructure to reduce energy consumption and waste is also beneficial to the long term health of the planet. That should go hand in hand with continuing to reduce pollutants and cleaner emissions through improved technology and methods.

The scam part Von and me are referencing is the forced driving of fossil fuel production lower via regulations and governmental controls while positioning EV's, solar and wind power as the primary means to reduce emissions. EV's present more problems than solutions... solar and wind sources, while promising just can't consistently deliver the power needs for our nation and really for the planet overall.

To me the best solution is to drive for increased fossil fuel production to lower overall costs while in parallel drive innovation in wind, solar, hydro, fusion, hydrogen, etc. to develop long term, stable energy solutions that are sustainable.

The current push to choke fossil fuel production is the heart of the scam problem...
