Dunno. Only italian dishes I know are... you guessed it: Pizza and spaghetti.

Coyote
06-10-2004, 03:06 PM
And lasagne, of course.

Ally_Kat
06-10-2004, 03:09 PM

Coyote
06-10-2004, 03:17 PM
Found this on google:

Glossary of culinary terms
- Marsala -
This is Italy's most famous fortified wine.
It features a rich, smoky flavor that ranges from sweet to dry.
Sweet Marsala is used as a dessert wine.
Dry Marsala is often used as an apértif (a light, alcoholic drink appetizer)

So is the dish you recommend chicken-dipped-in-alcohol? I'll go for it... :p

Coyote
06-10-2004, 03:18 PM
Right after I'm done with my ice cream 'n' STRAWBERRIES. :D

Smooth Jazz, Neo-jazz, Funk-Jazz, Lounge Jazz, Beatnik, BeBop, Hendrix (believe it or not, Jimi was more jazz than rock/pop, IMO...), Fusion, NY Jazz... The list goes on...

But, yeah, I will. ;)

Ally_Kat

Coyote

Man, I've got a sweet deal:

For a week, startin' tomorrow, I'll go set up some posters and ads for this two-day rock festival which will be held next week. What's the pay-off? A V.I.P.-ticket to that festival. :D

The guy I'm gonna be workin' for is a good friend of one of the organizers.

Coyote
06-11-2004, 11:36 AM
Oh, and did I mention that the ticket grants access to the backstages?
(There must be like 3 or 5 stages in the area, not including the little stages...)

Ally_Kat
06-11-2004, 12:31 PM
i suddenly feel like hopping a plane to Finland

Coyote
06-11-2004, 12:42 PM
I wonder why... :D

Artists there include: David Bowie, The Black Eyed Peas, HIM (HER in the U.S.), The Hives, etc...

Ally_Kat

You have a song for everything I say? ;)

Ally_Kat
06-14-2004, 03:28 PM
I've got bravery that shorts out on me
I see superstars in common thieves
And I see all you give up
And I try to be as much

Everything you say it sounds like gospel
Everything you say it sounds like gospel to me

I feel cheated
Tangled up repeatedly
Owed a piece of everything
And
Still you come around
With scissors to cut me down

Everything you say it sounds like gospel
Everything you say it sounds like gospel to me

It's all I can do to win for you

Coyote
06-14-2004, 03:31 PM
Apparently, yes. :) So, how're you?

Ally_Kat
06-14-2004, 03:37 PM
i'm alright. It's a lil humind here so it makes it really warm. Hoping the bf will call tonight

Coyote

Ally_Kat

Coyote

I've been listening to the Spirit soundtrack all day long. I'm such a wuss for Bryan Adams

Coyote
06-23-2004, 05:06 PM
Yeah, well, "The Groover from Vancouver" gets me every now'n'then as well... "Thought I Died And Gone To Heaven" contains one of the first guitar solos I've learned

Coyote

The bane of my existance: A gig on Friday, and I can't fuckin' remember what songs are supposed to be played, and HOW are they supposed to be played...

This is what you get for having swiss cheese filling in for your memory...

Ally_Kat
06-30-2004, 12:43 PM
are you worrying about it too much?

Coyote
06-30-2004, 03:23 PM
No. In fact, I'm not worrying 'bout at all...

The fact that no-one remembers the songs in practice might be a reason. (Another one might be that practices occur every other week, on Tuesdays 'n Thursdays. Simply due to the fact that the bass player and other guitarist have the night-shift every other week...)

Ally_Kat
06-30-2004, 03:27 PM
become an acappela (sp) group! ;D

Coyote
06-30-2004, 03:30 PM
LMAO. Yeah, that would be an alternative. A Capella ain't for me though: I never learned how to play 'n sing at the same time...

Coyote
06-30-2004, 03:32 PM
That, plus you don't really get the same combustionable live atmosphere that you get with a 4- or 5-member group.
(Or those big ass bands with a horn section... *drool*)

Coyote
07-06-2004, 10:27 PM
Nice sunrise we're having out here.

(Couldn't sleep...)

Coyote

Ally_Kat
07-13-2004, 04:03 PM
well traditionally, me and the buds usually pick a game or make up a game and then double it on Tuesday. Gets fun when you have bets on who can last longer.

Coyote
07-13-2004, 04:08 PM
Which do you double: the amount of booze, or the bets?

Ally_Kat
07-13-2004, 04:13 PM

Coyote
07-13-2004, 04:17 PM

Ally_Kat
07-13-2004, 04:20 PM
hmm...i don't know. I've been getting bored with the beer selection we have here and the boys don't know how to make many mixed drinks.

I would love a martini though

Coyote
07-13-2004, 04:23 PM
Okeydokey...

Emerald Martini
1 1/2 oz Gin
1/2 oz Dry Vermouth
1/8 oz Green Chartreuse
Twist of Lemon peel

Stir with cracked ice in a shaker and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Twist a lemon zest over the drink and float the zest on top.

*Jukebox starts playin' "Stray Cat Strut"*

Carmine
07-13-2004, 04:26 PM
might I offer a game? play "bottoms up"! every time dave says "bottoms up" do a shot. you'll need to have the shots ready before you start the song, it does get "fun" towards the end. keep playing the song until someone quits, pukes etc.

Jolly Good Fun! 6 shots in 2:30 leads to nothing but fun!

Coyote
07-13-2004, 04:32 PM

Long story short...1993, I'm driving from San Diego to L.A.

Get stopped at a road block by U.S. Customs and Immigration or

whatever their called. Show the Customs "Officer" my driver's

licence and he says, "Ontario, where's that at? Is that one

of our northern states." I had to say, you know where the world

series champs are from? He said yes. I said, that's where Ontario's

at!!:D

Oneonta is a ways from me. Oswego, NY (hence the name) is about 30 miles north of Syracuse, right on Lake Ontario. We are famous for our MASSIVE snow totals, and because we have the most bars per capita( check guinness book of records) for a city of 18,000- we have about 500 bars. back to the snow, this january 29th and 30th, we got 8 feet of snow in about 30 hours. cool huh.

Man... I'm starting to get worried 'bout this gig.

1) It's 130 Km away.
2) We have to use two cars, and none of us have gas for either one.
3) There's two bands before us
4) It's in a shithole of a town
5) It's on the rooftop of the local watering hole
6) We can't cancel it, on account of the guy, who got us the gig, "losing his face".
7) Our setlist is pretty much similar to the one at our last gig about two years ago.
8) We weren't informed of this until last week.

Someone tell me that it's gonna be OK! :(

Didn't know that... :D (But the woman I was referring to can be a bitch at times.)

Anyway, here's a quick low-down on how it went: Can you say "Hindenburg"?

The first sign was the remark "Hey you guys, the dude who does the sound ain't here, he had a gig to go to. But he'll be back at 12:30." We played at midnight. Do the math. (plus, the whole thing started an hour late.) So the guy who did the sounds was the "DJ", who apparently was deaf. Try to yell at him, he won't hear...

"Well, were there any people at all?" you might ask. Well, yes, but not for us. By the time we went on, people had gotten tired of live music a little, and apprently decided that they should concentrate on drinking.

We played two sets, roughly 20 songs. The bands before us played 6 or 7 songs each. (We were "the headline act". Whoop-de-do.)

Between sets, our second guitarist, Ilkka (a.k.a. Copperfield, 'cause he always makes his plectrums disappear), told me that I should sport a "fuck off" look when I play. (His idea of rock'n'roll is...umm... different. He's a bit more punk than rock, y'know.) Which came automatically, 'cause the P.A. was fucked up (two monitors, aimed at the singer. Our drummer couldn't hear shit, I couldn't hear shit, especially when Copperfield switched to a clean sound), there was only a few _drunken_ patrons jammin' in front of us tryin' to tell us how to play.

We made money out of it though, 200$, from which we spent 60$ on gas and food. And Copperfield's cousin (who got us the gig) is gonna take his cut from the cash. So that gives us 80-120$ to divide amongst us.

15$ (or so) for a gig located basically in the middle of nowhere is not good, IMO. But try tellin' THAT to Copperfield, though: He'll start whinin' n' weepin' about how we just couldn't back down from it, on account of his cousin losin' face or some shit like that.

The biggest mistake we made was that we got bored. Plus, we took pictures of the other bands, and forgot to ask someone to take pictures of US!

I swear, that's the last time that airhead's gonna book gigs for us. (Copperfield, that is...)

Had to vent a little, sorry folks...

Nice homepage ya got there, broham.

We play contemporary rock.(think Blink 182 with guitar solos and without the kiddy-humor, and you're close :D ) No links or homepage, sorry. None of us know how to HTML. Mp3's, umm... I posted them over at DDLR.com a year or two ago... Propably gone now... :D (But if ya want, I'll figure out how to post 'em here.)

Plus, we're (most likely) starting from a clean slate. Our drummer's bored of the original material, the singer's bored, and yours truly as well. One reason might be that "Copperfield", our main songwriter, is currently into punk-rock. Heavily. Whereas I, and maybe the aforementioned members would love to do something in the vein of Thin Lizzy & =VH=. (Well, mostly me... LOL.)

Joe walks into a bar and sits down.

He notices that the guy next to him is talking and listening to a tiny man, less than a foot tall who is playing an equally tiny piano on the bar in front of him.

Joe is like "Holy crap, where did you get that?"

The guy gives him a small rock. He tells him all he has to do is rub it and he'll get anything he wishes for.

Joe takes the rock and takes off for the bathroom.

A few minutes later he emerges, looking dazed and confused, and is followed by thousands of ducks.

He goes back to the bar and says "I don't understand. I wished for a million bucks, and suddenly I was surounded by all of these ducks. What happened?"
