    Kyle Turley--done forever?

    He left camp...

He hasn't missed any time...but said it was possible his career was over before the surgery...

Doesn't look good for the Rams best Tackle...

That sucks. He got a bad rap from the media, he seemed like a cool guy, the exact type of guy I'd want on my team. He really showed alot of heart and loved to play. Maybe he can come back from it, I hadn't heard about his latest problem.

MACOMB, Ill. – One day after re-injuring his surgically repaired back, St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Kyle Turley is leaving training camp to get further tests, and he's concerned the situation could be career-threatening.

Turley (San Diego State) underwent an MRI exam Saturday night, and on Sunday he was driving back to St. Louis. He also talked of possibly meeting with a back specialist in Los Angeles.

"It was a threat to my career last year," Turley said. "For it to have possibly reoccurred is definitely a bigger threat."

Turley left the field on a cart during the morning practice on Saturday. He has been trying to build his strength since the surgery, after which he lost about 30 pounds and experienced atrophy in his right leg. He had been seeing limited action in workouts.

On Tuesday, when the Rams reported to training camp, coach Mike Martz downplayed doubts about Turley's readiness.

Turley said Sunday that he may have tried to do too much at the start of camp.

"I think in general, being out here too early and going too hard too soon hurt me," Turley said. "A couple of plays in particular, you just get put in a bad position. It can happen to anybody at anytime, but I think I'm a little more vulnerable to it."

Last year was Turley's first with the Rams and he started all 16 games.

Yeah...I'm thinking if the MRI's come back negative...time off will get it all straightened out...hard not to get in the wrong position...at offensive tackle...

Yeah...but I think Turley is thinking it could be an ongoing back problem...probably doesn't want to end up an invalid...

tough position to come off of back surgery and remain healthy...

my guess is the guy needs to take a ton of time off...ie...preseason to get it 100%...or whatever percent he can get it to...
