The Best Van Halen Tune Ever

There was so much brilliance in DLR era...But if you had to pick only one song, which would you choose that adequately highlights DLR's vocal virtuosity w/unique sould of OLD Van Halen, one would haver to pick, "Somebody Get Me A Doctor."

    Your Thoughts?

I'd probably take Unchained. It's got THE guitar riff, the good drum work by Al, perhaps some of Mike's best bass work, and the classic Roth-Templeman interplay.

Truly a great track amongst many.

I think Drop Dead Legs would have to be one of my favorites. even though it was sort of ignored on the 1984 album cause of Panama and Jump

I agree with most of the "Unchained" posts. It may be the coolest ever. I love "Romeo Delight". Imagine seeing Dave & the boys explode onstage with "Romeo Delight" as the opener like they used to? Wow... "look at all the people here tonight, I say..."

"Drop Dead Legs" is such an underrated song. I love it. It is truly a classic. It is like a red-haired little stepbrother to "Panama", "Jump", and "Hot For Teacher"...

What are you thinking?! How could anything other than "Jump" be the answer? :56k:

                  LITTLE GUITARS

LITTLE GUITARS was always my fave after I heard it. I think I'm the only one though.
By the way, it's not because of the guitar at the beginning of the song. Yes that is very cool. But if you removed that entire piece from the song it would still be my fave song of all time. DLR's vocals are awesome on this song. Jamie's Cryin would be a close 2nd.
                  DLR/VH IS JUST BETTER
