I've noticed that now VH1 is showing tons of Guns n Roses things that their best of has been doing a lot better in sales. Do you think they will try to do this with Van Halen?

Van Halen weekend on VH1 would be pretty sweet though...

Did they get any bumped of sales when the Sam and Dave show was aired?

Legendary rock bands from the 70's like Kiss, Aerosmith & Van Halen willl never get the attention from the media again but 80's rock bands like GNR & Bon Jovi will continue to get massive exposure on TV.

I would love a "behind the music" on VH, but 1 hour would not be enough. I think the Dave/Sam documentary kinda told the whole story. They probably will not persue it further than that cause the parties just won't cooperate.

Actually...if the Van Halen sisters would be smart, they would produce their own documentary (kinda like the Beatles Anthology) with all the videos, performances and the story. But the idiots say they are a band that looks forward and then they gives us to crappy "best of" CD's. Sorry guys, but we're fans of an IDIOT band.

WTF?!?!
Wayne, really, put down the pipe Bro!
It's easy to see that your a DEFENDER OF THE FAITH, but be realistic man! AEROSMITH gets NO MEDIA ATTENTION? HELLO McFLY!?! THE SUPERBOWL? MTV ICON? "When KISS RULED the WORLD" on VH1 YESTURDAY for the 1.000,000th time? Not ENOUGH specials on KISS on VH1?
The Mighty VAN HALEN doesn't get MUCH attention anymore(CELEBRITY FUEDS DAVE vs. VH #1 !) because the SISTERS have done EVRYTHING at their disposal to try and OBSCURE their legacy. They would get TONS of MAINSTREAM MEDIA ATTENTION if they would GET WITH THE PROGRAM and get DAVID LEE ROTH BACK AND REFORM VAN HALEN!!!!

Right you are Le_Fung! BIG STANDING OVATION. EVH later refers to it as a "HALF-ASSED STANDING OVATION". Maybe he was too PLOWED to tell the difference. I think he is too JADED, a big "ROCK STAR", who dosen't appreciate his fans anylonger.

FUCK YOU EVH!!!:heyfu: :mad2: :fucku2: :fucku: :fucku2: :mad2:

Aerosmith did get LOTS of media during their so called comeback but it's kind of tampering off now for some reason except for their A&E concert special along with the occasional Kiss specials on VH1 like When Kiss Ruled The World but it's NOT as much as GNR & Bon Jovi Matt White.

DUDE, it's 2004...not 1984. HOW MUCH "cpverage" do you think ANY 30+ year old band is gonna get? The majority of people who BUY music and attend concerts is between the ages of 13-20 years old. They interested in these bands??? I find it hard to believe. THAT'S WHY REUNIONS USUALY DRAW BIG CROWDS. It gives the original fans of a band a chance to see the old guys back out on the road. BUt, NOBODY WANTED Van Hagar to come back. Hence their small crowds. EASY TO SEE.

Bon Jovi gets attention because they are still making music and making videos, I am sure if Dave put out a rock album and put out some videos he would get plenty of air play.

im pretty sure the new GnR best of dropped as quickly as the BOBW did on the billboard chart. A lot of fans were pissed since it wasnt a great track listing, and the band tried to block it's release since they had no imput on the thing.

Mr White, you are correct...it is 2004 and not 1984. MTV sucks but they are playing what the kids today want to hear/see....granted its shaddy business since they are the ones deciding and driving sales. An artist like DLR/Van Halen have zero chance today to be HUGE like they once were. A record exec told me once that if a 13 yr old girl can't sing along with your songs...these days, you are fucked. And there is no way a 13 yr old girl or the MTV target audience would accept VH/DLR/Kiss or any other 40-50 yr old rockers. Hell a band like Velvet Revolver and Audioslave...two bands with members from big Gen X bands aren't selling huge.
