8 years ago...Van Halen was ripe to take on the world...

Roth willing to rejoin...Ed appeared to be swallowing his ignorance...

and two new songs and MTV come forth...

But Ed realizes that HE may not be THE GUY with Roth...

and in one second...Roth is gone...

and Ed chooses a guy from a band that...irregardless of what previous albums they had...is known for a fucking ballad.

beautiful for Ed...he can dominate. His EGO even allows him to sing on the fucking album...a song that Cherone says, "I couldn't put any words together better than Ed...so we left it as is..."

Now...if that doesn't speak to a mistake...than GEEZus H Chriminies...

so...Dave fans are pissed...Sam fans are saying, "Hmmm...maybe this Cherone deal will work out..." and Cherone fans are...well...there aren't any...

So they put out this sham of an album...12 people goto see it...8 people buy it...

and Ed says..."Oooops..."but never plays the Tuba...

then 2000...then 2002...they are...they aren't...they are...they aren't...

and through it all...Van Halen erosion is taking place...

a few fans here...a few fans there...

Dave's saying, "I never got called back..."

Ed's saying, "It's up to the lawyers..."

Sam's saying, "Never call me...unless it's just friendship..."

I'm saying...who gives a shit...tell the lawyers to fuck off...

Dave and Sam smarten up...and tour together...more than likely to piss Ed off...

and Ed realizes that they are cashing in on his buck. So Mr. originality says, "hey...I have an idea...why don't we tour with both."

Al calls Sham...because Ed's a big giant pussy...and may have been afraid that Sham was wearing a cup...or perhaps had a flab of fat hanging over his crank...so Al and Sham have dinner...

and loe and behold, Mr. "I'm not interested..." is in...

VH management calls Roth management...and pushes an idea for Dave and Sham to tour with them together...

Dave says, "Fuck you..."

Now people are saying three years from now?

I say...go ahead and wait if you want to...

and for those that still back Ed in all of this...I sure as fuck wish you were my neighbor...because I'd befriend you for a couple of months...

then spend the rest of my days fucking the neighbors wife up the ass...since that's the shit that he's dealin' these days...a bend over for anyone that ever supported that dumb, rotten bastard....

The Van Halens just don't want to share either the attention or the money with Roth (hence the smaller share of royalties Roth got from the classic Van Halen sales after VH renegotiated their contract with WB in the mid-1990s).

As far as I can tell, that's what it boils down to, and none of the actions and statements the Van Halens have made/undertaken since the whole 1996 debacle lead me to believe anything otherwise.

I reckon back to the early Van Hagar interviews when Ed would pronounce that they don't have a "ring leader" anymore, no more "Vegas trip" to it.....

In the Van Heiniken's alcoholic minds (or is that now Van Boone's Farm ?), having Dave back in the band, or shall I say Dave's persona, diminishes the band's public perception on their musical ability, rather than the showmanship aspect of their show....

They know that with Sambo, they have a lead singer that not only completely lets Ed run carte-blanche, but also in Hagar himself they have an incredibly simplistic lyricist, with absolutely no clue on how to front a rock band....

And THAT is just what Ed wants....

And the results, you ask ??

It is painfully obvious that you had Ed being pushed by nobody on his preparation for this tour.... His solos have been amazingly mediocre, if not poor.... His mannerisms have often been described as "wandering", almost like he's just going through the motions... The old Edward Van Halen, in the David Lee Roth-led Van Halen era, would NEVER half-ass a show in that fashion.....

The setlists for this tour are completely lame....Even if they wanted to shift the focus to Hagar-era material, they could have done MUCH better in selecting their songs, as opposed to a heavily laden ballad setlist.... A David Lee Roth-led Van Halen concert was wall-to-wall, in your face, kick you in the gut jams, all night long.... During the '84 tour, you didn't even want to take a piss break and miss a song !!! On this tour ?? Shit, take your pick.....

You have the band put out ANOTHER best-of compilation, including 3 of the most elementary, lollipop, Mickey Mouse, garage band sounding songs I've ever heard from a "major" rock act.... You put 3 live songs on there, originally from the Roth-era, but you put lame-sounding Hagar-led recordings on there, just to stab Dave in the back one more time.....

The main result: You have the once-mighty Van Halen going on a nationwide tour to half-empty halls....

Will it ever change ?? It would have to be as a result of incredible external pressure... If it's only the Boone's boys, no way in hell....
