Berkeley, CA (Sports Network) - Tampa Bay wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson was unharmed after being mugged at gunpoint on Wednesday.
According to police, Johnson was approached by two men while talking on a cell phone after he stepped out of a local barber shop. The two men fled after Johnson handed over money and jewelry. No arrests have been made.
The 33-year-old Johnson was deactivated from the Buccaneers' roster for the final six games of the regular season. Tampa Bay can either trade or release the former No. 1 pick.
Johnson caught 45 balls for 600 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games this season for the Bucs, who missed the playoffs one year after capturing their first Super Bowl title.
In his eighth season out of USC, Johnson has totaled 603 receptions for 7,936 yards and 48 touchdowns.
Johnson has played in Tampa since the 2000 campaign after spending the first four years of his career with the New York Jets.
