ATTENTION - CALLING ALL R.A’s. MEN & WOMEN TO DUTY

I am looking for vintage photos of the inside of Deep Purple’s tour jet in the late 60’s – early 70’s. It’s been years since I have seen them, but the inside of their big ass jet was awesome. A real psychedelic pussy pad, that made Jimi Hendrix jealous.

Post em here if you find any surfing

....Oh, gee I need one of those Blackmore pilgram hats tooooo, baawaa!

Fuckin hell, I thought it was only Zeppelin that had a touring plane!

I read an interview with Blackmore recently in Record Collector magazine and Ritchie is well up for a MKII re-union. He came across as quite a nice bloke actually.

It was a special Deep Purple issue, only a few months ago

Yes, he's apparently quite nice about the idea. But Gillan thinks the band is so great with Morse. Frankly, they're treading water. Not one song they've written with Morse has been a classic...the albums are just complete filler. At least they were coming up with great tracks like PERFECT STRANGERS, THE BATTLE RAGES ON when they had Blackmore.

I don't think MARK II will ever get back together. Plus, LORD doesn't want to be in the band either.

Sucks. I still think Morse was the wrong choice...and Purple is Blackmore more than anyone else anyway. I really enjoyed the show I saw this summer...but I never forgot I was seeing Morse/Airey...not Blackmore/Lord.

          Ok, my turn on Morse.

Steve Morse is a brilliant guitarist, but my problem with the guy is he as no tone or phrasing on his leads. IMO, this keeps him from ever being an elite master guitarist. If he would get some tone and phrasing like some of the other greats, Blackmore could stay home and suck on Candice and ludes, or whatever.

FYI Ritchie will be 60 this year. All these guyes are up in their years, for the lifestyle. Gotta remember that DP is a decade older than VH.

I thought DP with Morse on Tour was great. The closest overall sound I have heard since early 70's DP, except Morris was trashing and bulldogging throught Blackmore's well crafted leads, and I hated his sound on most of his solos.

          That's my 3 cents

PS: Agree with everything you said Rikk, ......where's the beef.

Saw this while doing some research digging:

"California Jam" 1974 and "Live In Denmark" 1972 will be released on DVD. T2, who produce the DVD's, were planing to release them, but now the DVD's will be released on EMI in Europe and Australia, on VAP in Japan and Eagle/Spitfire in America. Both DVD's are planed to be released in February 2005.

"The California Jam" DVD will include "Lay Down Stay Down" (which wasn't included on the old video release), picture gallery, alternate angles on some tracks etc.

"Live In Denmark" DVD has now been expand and will now include New York Hofstra University 1973 footage (cut's from this appeared on the Machine Head DVD). The Hofstra footage is around 25 min (all that survives). "Live In Denmark" DVD will also be the first release in a projected series of Deep Purple archive releases, "The Deep Purple DVD Collection 68/76 Volume One".

Hey TOMBA...do you know if the sound on Denmark will be the same mono soundboard tape or if it will be a 5.1 surround remix? I don't know if that show was multi-tracked. Believe it or not, I've never seen either show in its entirety. Only various clips.

I can't fucking wait to get these DVDs.

Have no idea they have jerked around so long coming out with these.

Tell you what chief, I am shocked how much vintage DP stuff is out there. Tells you a lot about what the market still thinks of this great original band and their contributions.

Yup. It takes Zeppelin 25 years to finally come out with a great vault release. Lord knows the demand is there for more.

But Purple have been throwing great DVDs (or vids) and CDs at fans for years, even though the releases contained earlier line-ups.

It just proves not only that they are legendary but that they also don't feel like fucking over their fans or ignoring their history (VAN HALEN sucks).

Well, we are talking about bands who’s heyday was almost 1/3 of a century ago.
