It's 'all profits go to charity' so that means not a huge amount. I kind of hope Jake E Lee at least get's a 1st class plane ticket from Vegas. He's only there as PR because he was shot lets face it.

It's a million for the tickets plus the TV deal, she will obviously skim but whatever. No one is being forced to go.

What is important is making sure that as many as possible of the 99.9% of the general population that don't know her cuntitude become aware.

The fucking question marks were supposed to be British "pound" symbols. Not sure why they didn't translate correctly.

A-ha ...I misread the poster re: proceeds vs. profits.

I'm sure 'profits' will be defined as whatever Sharon wants them to be defined as, probably meaning after every pound and pence of production expenses and artist payments are spent, whatever may be leftover will possibly thus be defined as 'profits'.

Realistically, though, the event could have been held as just another non-charity rock festival and I doubt attendance would vary one way or the other.

Wolfgang has some talent but nothing he has written is that great. Apparently his uncle Patrick Bertinelli manages him and I would say Mammoth has been well managed. A lot might be due to people like Dave Grohl knowing Wolfie because of who his dad was and he gets booked because of that. Anyways the Mammoth LP’s are cool. Great cover art and interesting colored vinyl pressings. It’s just that Wolfie has a boring personality and looks like a fat slob. There’s zero cool factor there. The songs are blah. Nothing grabs you.

Sammy likes to say he made more money with his business ventures than he ever made in Van Halen. That’s probably true. So he’s like yeah I was in VH but I made more money on my own. At the same time it drives the man nuts he’s not part of the Van Halen legacy. When you say Van Halen it’s the Roth era people think about. Van Hagar is already forgotten about. Sam tries so hard to get himself into the legacy doing Eddie tribute shows and the other half but he’s basically just a cover band. Sam will be remembered more for Cabo Wabo than Van Halen. He’s the tequila selling beach guy who has a band and some clubs.

Mammoth isn't really a band though, is it? I mean, my understanding is Wolfgang played all the instruments on the records. I don't know if he has used the same musicians whenever Mammoth has toured.

I only listened to the first album and I'd agree there is a level of ability there, regardless of my reaction to the results, which was ho-hum. As you say, nothing grabs you. My own reaction having listened to the album twice was neither one of wanting to hear any of it again nor being compelled to listen to any further releases. Wasn't a hate thing or some hyperbole along the lines of "this is the worst rock music ever" but more of a non-reaction, which is arguably a more damning one than hating or loving it: the stuff is forgettable.

Obvious to say perhaps but were he not Eddie's kid most assuredly his music wouldn't have gotten any of the attention it subsequently did. To say his success was nepo-inherited in terms of the interest level it got is a foregone conclusion, as - much like his joining Van Halen - it all stems from who his father was.

All his Twitter wars with Van Halen fans and his bloated physical condition are ancillary in that neither of those add to or detract from his music, which is middle-of-the-road ordinary.

But, whatever. Ed's kid has the wherewithal (money, family name, connections) to do what he wants to re: his musical career. Not a bad life, I'm guessing.

He had enough sense to sort of brand himself as the hard rock Jimmy Buffett not too long after 'Parrotheads' became a thing in the mid-1980's. I'm sure Cabo back when Hagar first opened his club up there wasn't the overrun, overdeveloped tourist destination it subsequently became.

I mean, I can't say Hagar isn't or wasn't part of Van Halen, inasmuch as Hagar did enjoy a not insubstantial degree of commercial success with the band. Personally, I never thought the band should have continued using the Van Halen name once Dave left, since to me Van Halen was Roth, Alex, Eddie and Mike. Truth be told, I didn't really think what transpired from 2006-2015 was really 'Van Halen' either since Mike should have - and could have - been there. But, apparently the Mach 4 setup was the one Eddie was comfortable with, it was acceptable enough to Roth and it was the closest thing to the original band I was ever gonna get in terms of The Classic Van Halen Reunion I had wanted to see.

But ...yeah, clearly it still DOES irk Hagar that for many he simply wasn't a part of the classic Van Halen lineup they continue to enjoy and think of first when the name Van Halen is thought of. It irks Hagar to the point where he's still out there trying to make the case that what he did with the band was just as meaningful, or relevant or whatever. I used to derive a degree of snarky enjoyment out of that irking Hagar, but now I just think it's sad and pathetic. It's like, he just can't quite be happy with his lot in life, and over something he has no control over anyway, something being how doubtless more Van Halen fans than not consider the CVH lineup to be the 'best' or one they prefer.

Wofgang is set unless he's really stupid with money. It doesn't take long for an idiot to burn through it. So he could make records and tour for fun. He doesn't have to make a livi g doing it. If you like EVH Gear he seems to know instruments and has a good handle of what his dad's brand is. I think him and Matt Bruck will do a good job with it.

There wasn't much in Cabo in the 80's. We used to go down there to fish. It was a fishing town. It probably was Sammy Hagar that put the place on the map. Now there's a few nice hotels and housing developments up the coast for vacation homes and people who want to escape California taxes and still enjoy the beach.

"I'm not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath”: Ozzy Osbourne’s health will restrict his involvement in Villa Park gig this July

                          Story by Will Simpson

"I'm not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath”: Ozzy Osbourne’s health will restrict his involvement in Villa Park gig this July? Scott Dudelson/Getty Images

Ozzy Osbourne has warned fans not to expect him to be the singer he once was at what is being billed as his final show this summer.

On his Sirius XM radio show, Ozzy Speaks, the veteran frontman said he would only be partially on stage during the show. "I'm not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath but I am doing little bits and pieces with them,” he said. “I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable."

It’s no secret that the singer hasn’t been in the best of health these past few years. In 2022 he revealed that he has been battling Parkinson’s Disease for two decades. He was unable to perform at his induction into the Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame last October. In fact he gave his acceptance speech at ceremony whilst seated

He said he was trying to get as fit as he can be. "I am trying to get back on my feet. When you get up in the morning, you just jump out of bed. I have to balance myself, but I'm not dead. I'm still actively doing things."

This, of course, raises the question of who exactly will be singing the bulk of Black Sabbath’s set, if not Ozzy? There have been periods in the band’s long history when they have used other singers, most notable Ronnie James Dio and during the late '80s and '90s, Tony Martin. But Dio is sadly no longer with us and a reunion with Martin would seem unlikely given the bad blood between him and the band after his departure in the late '90s.

There is, of course, the option of using a selection of guest singers and given the line up of rock and metal royalty that will be on display at Villa Park on July 5, surely a viable one? No doubt all will be revealed in the coming weeks…

Maybe Rob Halford will step in as lead vocalist for the third time? He's also from Birmingham, even though he currently lives in Arizona. It's kind of a shit show to bill this thing as a Black Sabbath gig if Ozzy can't sing.

Geezer should probably wear a helmet, in case the bottles start flying again.

So, it won't be a full set with the original Sabbath four?

Was under the impression it would be. Perhaps the lack of a full-on Sabbath set with Ozzy had already been made amply clear prior to tickets going on sale and I just didn't read the announcements carefully enough.

Ozzy has turned into a freak show. His "performances" with Sabbath a few years ago were a pain to see and hear...
How worse did it get? If it can be worse it's hard to imagine.
