Other: The McManus brothers, an Irish band called the Mama's Boys ~ Midnight Promises
Classic, heavy and melodic. Plus guts, balls and fun. A highly underrated band!

This is tough.
Best...Maiden...they peaked at Powerslave for me.
Ratt, Priest and Metallica's albums that year were damn good.
I'll give an honourable mention to Helix - Walkin' The Razer's edge.Leave a comment:

I thought I was in a minority of folks that had "Ride The Lightning" as their favorite Metallica album! Most old Metallica fans list Puppets as their favorite, and I love that album as well, but I've always liked Lightning the best. Good to see I'm not the only one.Leave a comment:

On their second release, the band expands their sound while remaining loud and angry as Hell. Although this was also originally an indie release, it might have actually been more "radio friendly" than the major label successor, "Master of Puppets" was.
But of course radio didn't touch it. Aside from college radio anyway.
Scared the SHIT out of my parents with the beginning of this record. They thought they were hearing some nice mellow classical guitar shit with the beginning of "Fight Fire with Fire" and then about a minute into the the thing....... BOOOM like a goddamned nuclear detonator.
Probably my favorite Metallica album to this day.Leave a comment:

"Defenders of the faith"
Could`ve been Priest`s best ever album if it wasn`t for that shitty production.Leave a comment:
