    Running Man Remake

Usually I'm not a fan of remakes but the original one with Arnie wasn't that great and I'm a fan of Edgar Wright - think he will do a good job making it darker and less cheesy.

They are filming it here just now, some of you might be recognise some of these cars that have been shipped over. Interesting that he's going for 70s? US cars in the dystopian near future?

First pic on the right is at least a '91 Caprice, they redesigned in '93 to remove the rear wheel skirts. Not sure what year Camaro behind it, late 70's I'd guess.

Third from right in the second pic is a previous generation Caprice, maybe mid-80's. I had an '85 for a while. Not sure what the taxi is, maybe a Ford LTD? I don't recognize the kick up on the back door.

I did see a pic from the set that had an AMC Pacer in it. We had an early one, my dad was a supervisor at the Jeep plant and they had a cheap lease program to get the cars out in public and hopefully drum up sales.

Not a particular fan of remakes, either, but I'd agree the original with Arnie wasn't all that great - rewatched it a year or so ago for the first time in ages, and was struck with how cheesy and bad it was, far worse than I had remembered - thus The Running Man was never a flick I considered sacrosanct.

If, as you say, the remake goes for a darker, less tongue in cheek tone, it might be worth a watch.

The "fish gills" side vents on the Camaro would probably make it a 78 or 79

They are using the second biggest concert venue as a mega church - capacity 3000.

The DLR Band played there in 2004.

It's slightly worrying when your home city is the go to location for dystopian nightmare future movies.

We get superhero movies. Most of the new Superman was shot downtown this summer. One of the original Spiderman and the one Avengers was done here. Captain America too. Russo brothers are Cleveland natives.

And yes, these movies are not old enough to remake yet, no matter how bad the movie is. I didn't think King Kong was old enough to redo again, even though the DeLaurentis version was meh. There's always talk of Logan's Run being remade and I'm always glad it hasn't been. Not that the original was groundbreaking or anything.
