The "sports car" rumor was always complete deep fake bullshit. The "vacation home" story was wildly exaggerated. Bernie's wife Jane inherited a house and some property from a dead relative in her family. She and Bernie sold that property and used the money to buy a vacation home. No payoffs. No bribes. You never know until you see the finances. Talk is cheap. Bernie is too old anyways. The Dems shot their brand to hell so it’s logical that party is on the way out and something else will replace it but it won’t happen over night. Bernie's like 82 or 83 now, and he just won another term to the Senate. He'll be pushing 90 when that term ends, assuming his health holds up . But I doubt he would run again at that point.
That means he's run out of proverbial fucks to give, since re-election is no longer a factor, and aside from doing his direct job for the people of Vermont, he's probably going to focus the rest of his time building this movement he's talking about. I just hope he lives long enough to see it.

It's actually kind of weird if you think about it. Most of them are rich enough and on average have to spend 5 or 6 hours fund raising a day. Maybe I'm missing something but begging on the phone all day sounds like a pretty shitty job to me why would you not want to retire? I guess because the kind of people that get the job are suited to it but also usually not good for the voters.Comment
