Depends on where you're at. Hell, when you lived up on Squidbey Island, you could practically see Canada from your house.
As for the border, this is about a mile from where my great grandmother lived in Lynden........
The van is in Canada. The car where the picture was taken from is in the US. The ditch that runs between the two roads is the border.
We like it that way. And the last time a terrorist tried to enter the US from Canada, he didn't even try jumping this ditch, he took the ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles. And got arrested in the process.
So we're doing just fine up here with our border security. We don't need no damn wall.Eat Us And Smile

Wrong. Geographically we're much closer to Mexico. In this part of the state I'd argue that culturally part too. We're more like gun toting pick up truck driving Texans here than those frog lovers east of here in Naw Leans.Beware of DogComment

Wrong. You only have 4 states that border Mexico, but you have 13 that border Canada...and we have gun toting pick up truck driving Albertans (Canada's "Texas"). As for frog lovers in New Orleans, I assume you are referring to Cajuns....who are descended from the Acadians that were forced out of New France (now Canada) by the Brits."Ya know what they say about angels... We are dependent on you, and you are dependent on us. And when I say "you", I mean all of America, not just you in particular.
Geographically, you have two neighbours...but who is your closest ally between the two? Hint.. I didn't see Mexico in New Orleans after Katrina...."Ya know what they say about angels... When I say (or type and post in this case) I live closer to Mexico than Canada I'm not attempting to speak for "all Americans" but I could because I LIVE CLOSER TO MEXICO THAN CANADA. As far as the rest maybe/maybe not. The 13 million illegals living here strain our relationship with Mexico we still have to mantain a working relationship with them.Beware of DogComment
