Yeah, I see you all have that urban vs rural bullshit going on over there too. I crashed out too early last night to monitor the later results, but it looks like the "suburbs" came in late to help Maggie Jr. out.

So I guess they're calling this a "hung parliament", with no party ending up with the 326 seats required for a majority, but the Tories unfortunately in the lead. Which of course means coalition building with the minor parties. So looking at the numbers here.....

    SNP - 35
    LibDems - 12
    DUP - 10
    Sinn Fein - 7
    Plaid Cymru - 4
    Green - 1
    Independent - 1

So which of these minor parties are likely to back Labour and which are likely to back the Tories? I'm guessing May is finished as PM no matter which party ends up "in charge", since this whole election was envisioned by her as a "power grab" and obviously failed, costing her party 32 seats in the process.

Weird election no one wanted any of them and that's what we end up with .

Corbyn is like a more extreme version of Bernie. He's done a lot better than people expected.

The media have been fucking unbelievably biased against him, all the headlines today were calling him a terrorist because he talked to the IRA 30 years ago. The language was shocking and well done to people ignoring their lies.

Jeremy Corbyn calls on Theresa May to resign....

......as exit polls suggest Conservatives fail to achieve majority
    Andrew Griffin
    independent.co.uk

Jeremy Corbyn has called on Theresa May to resign.

Ms May should "go and make way for a government that is truly representative of this country", the Labour leader said at his election count. The exit poll and recent results suggest that no party will win a majority in parliament, despite Ms May having called the campaign in an attempt to strengthen her position.

"The prime minister called the election because she wanted a mandate," he said. "Well the mandate she's got is lost Conservative seats, lost votes, lost support and lost confidence. I would have thought that is enough for her to go actually."

Accepting victory after holding Islington North with his biggest ever majority, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said: "Politics has changed. Politics isn't going back into the box where it was before. People have said they have had quite enough of austerity politics."

Just a couple of minutes after Mr Corbyn made the call, Ms May arrived at her own election count. Immediately, journalists asked whether the prime minister would be resigning.
