Russia’s Vladimir Putin ‘very ill’ with blood cancer: secret recording
    By Eileen AJ Connelly
    May 14, 2022 12:03pm Updated

The type of cancer was unspecified, New Lines reported in a story discussing myriad rumors about Putin’s health.

“The recording represents rare testimony by someone with proven ties to the Russian government that its fanatical dictator may well be seriously unwell,” the magazine stated of the comments made during a mid-March discussion with someone described as a “Western venture capitalist.”

“He absolutely ruined Russia’s economy, Ukraine’s economy and many other economies — ruined [them] absolutely,” the unnamed oligarch said of Putin on the tape. “The problem is with his head. … One crazy guy can turn the world upside down.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin appeared to have dark blotches on his cheeks in a video released May 11, 2022.
    East2West

The man is an energy tycoon who is currently outside of Russia with a net worth that puts him on the list of the 200 richest Russian businessmen. He can be heard on the tape vehemently criticizing the invasion of Ukraine and questioning the purpose of more than 15,000 Russian soliders’ deaths.

And he says “we all hope” Putin dies from his cancer or possibly from some intervention such as a coup, to spare Russia from further misfortune.

The oligarch “had no idea he was being recorded,” on the 11-minute tape, New Lines said, adding that it identified the man by his voice but withheld his name “because of the high probability disclosing it would lead to state retaliation,” noting Russia’s law that imposes 15 years in prison for spreading “fake news.”

It noted that Roman Abramovich, owner of the Chelsea Football Club in London, may have been poisoned in March amid his efforts to negotiate a peace deal with Ukraine and said eight other oligarchs “have turned up dead since January,” including two purported to have murdered their wives and children before committing suicide, one in Spain and one in Moscow.

Ukraine’s head of military intelligence also claimed Putin has cancer and suggested that a coup to remove the Russian leader is already underway.

Maj. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov said the heavy losses that Russian forces have suffered prelude a defeat by the end of the year and will “eventually lead to the change of leadership of the Russian Federation.”

The Times of London noted rampant speculation about Putin’s health after he was seen on several occasions walking with an apparent limp and a puffy face that could suggest he’s being treated with steroids. And during last week’s Victory Day Parade, the Russian leader was wrapped in a heavy wool blanket.

The Times also cited an investigation by Proyekt, an independent Russian publication, that disclosed that Putin is accompanied almost everywhere by three doctors, including an oncologist, or cancer specialist, and that the leader bathes in the blood from the antlers of young reindeer, an “alternative treatment” he learned of in Siberia.

Moreover, the New Lines story pointed to a memo sent out to officers in the Federal Security Service (FSB), the successor to the Soviet KGB, telling them not to speculate about Putin’s health or “trust rumors about the president’s terminal condition.”

The instructions had the opposite effect, convincing most FSB officers that Putin is ill, the magazine reported.

“The recording represents rare testimony by someone with proven ties to the Russian government that its fanatical dictator may well be seriously unwell.”

Phoney baloney hooey fooey wishful thinking. Plastic surgery disaster Putin has way too many 'yes' men surrounding him who are just as fucked-up and sociopathic ex-FSB as he is. The only way I can see this possibly happening if the RuZZian military overthrows the government from within and without and has overwhelming public support otherwise RuZZia will have one hell of a civil war on their hands in the same manner ol' F A T T Y wanted to do here (with Putin's blessing). With that said, I do believe Putin's days are numbered. Who can really say for sure what type of cancer he has or if that cancer has metastasized into his tiny RuZzian brain and is seriously affecting his judgement. Putin is living in the past of a RuZZia of some 60-70 years ago where his colleges murdered hundreds if not thousands at will and kept their nation in fear due to "Western influence."

Unless a close advisor pulls out a Glock 17 and places a few bullets in his weirdly fucked up looking skull Putin is going nowhere anytime soon - as in the next few weeks to months. He has an American mid-term to fuck up after all.

A coup is underway to oust Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is "very sick" due to cancer, according to Ukraine's head of military intelligence.

"It will eventually lead to the change of leadership of the Russian Federation. This process has already been launched and they are moving into that way," Ukrainian Major Gen. Kyrylo Budanov told the UK's Sky News in an exclusive interview.

An interviewer asked if a coup is underway, to which Budanov replied, "Yes. They are moving in this way and it is impossible to stop it."

Putin has cancer and other ailments, he said, dismissing the suggestion that he was spreading propaganda.

The Sunday Times recently reported that Putin has blood cancer, citing an unnamed Russian oligarch with close ties to the Kremlin. And a video recently resurfaced showing Putin shaking while welcoming Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko in mid-February, according to The Independent, fueling speculation that the despot has Parkinson's disease.

I had to google that word but it's absolutely a boondoggle - of course it is most modern wars are.

One advantage of not having an auto loader is you can store the ammunition at the back of the turret. If the ammo does cook off it can vent through the top of the turret instead of cooking the tank crew. Another advantage is you can select what kinds of rounds you want to use for each shot.

The T-72 was designed to be hard to hit but with modern tank targeting systems having a low tank is not the advantage it was in the past. Anyways plenty of debate goes on at the US War College over what kinetic weapons are still relevant. The spooks will say kinetic war itself is obsolete because they can change a regime with little or no kinetic action.
The T-72, many upgraded to the T-72B3 standard, are good tanks. Russia also still deploys numbers of T-80's that use a gas-turbine like the M-1 Abrams series and became a shitshow that was a lot more than a T-72 without much in technical improvements. The T-72 itself was fielded as a cheaper but still capable replacement for the still very good and interesting T-64 that was groundbreaking and supposedly better than anything NATO had on the late-60's. But it was massively expensive and the T-72 offered 90% of the capability at a fraction of the price. The Ukrainians still field a version called the BULAT that is probably better than anything Russia currently fields, but in smaller numbers...

The tank shown blowing up above is the T-90M, the pinnacle of Russian tank development and their basic answer to the current Western tanks like the M-1A2SEPv3/4 Abrams, Leopard II, Leclerc, Challenger II, etc. It's the best parts of a 72 and 80 and has a special package of not just "reactive armor" (explosive panels designed to throw off HEAT rounds) but an "active protection" system designed to fire essentially buckshot at incoming projectiles, or use various means to jam laser guided missiles like the Hellfire. Obviously, much hyped during the Syrian war, it doesn't seem to work very well. The Russians also installed steel rail screens on their tops of their tanks in ward off hits from the top hitting Javelins and NLAWs, to no avail. The Russians are being defeated because they are a corrupt ill trained army incapable of modern combined arms warfare and can only pound things with massive artillery barrages then advance very slowly. Some Russian units have been on the verge of open mutiny and many simply refuse to advance or fight. But they are now being pushed out of the north around Kharkov and I think it is a matter of time before they piss themselves out in Donbas and the South with mounting losses of armor and people they cannot sustain. The Ukrainians are now fielding the latest in NATO 155mm artillery systems that can outrange most Russian guns and the writing is on the wall. Putin even started preparing his nation for the inevitable 'victim-of-evil-NATO" defeat card...

The much vaunted T-90M tank obliterated by a shoulder fired recoilless rifle designed in 1948 (albeit much improved)...

Yes the Soviet wanted a low profile tank but the main issue is that they wanted to cut crews from 4 to 3 by using an autoloader to save the dwindling manpower. Nearly all Western tanks have a 4th crewman as a loader. There are pluses and minuses to both but the NATO tanks will have a higher rate of fire at least for the first hour or so. The autoloader may be faster after that since it doesn't wear down. The issue is ammo stowage were all Russian designed autoloader tanks need the ammo under the turret to feed it. The first gen of autoloaders could take a crewman's arm off if he wasn't watching but since I think they've put in some safety protcals.

With the kind of tank killing weapons available now tanks are pretty much obsolete.

The tank in itself isn't obsolete. The Russian tactics of leaving them unsupported is. There have been good AT weapons since the 50's and the US used the TOW in Vietnam to good effect as the Egyptians used the Soviet SAGGAR to good effect against Israeli tanks in 1973. Tanks supported by infantry are usually every effective. Sending a lone tank as a bot to shoot buildings is idiotic...

A Russian T-90M costing $4.5 million destroyed by a Carl Gustaf 84mm recoilless rifle costing about $20K...
