UAW plant was a supplier plant, we did a lot of parts for Ford and a small amount of GM. Was a decent place to work but both management and union reps were shit. I left to go to Progressive. -
There were a couple things (the work 32 hours and get paid for 40) the union was asking for that they weren't going to get. That way, the stewards can go to their locals and say "well, we tried, but we couldn't get that" and talk up the things that they did get.
I worked in two Teamster plants and in a UAW plant. Never again. Watching complete fuck-ups destroy property and equipment and keep their jobs, and others with legitimate issues are told by the shop stewards "I can't do anything for you." Not to mention the head of the local arriving at meetings in a different Cadillac each time.
I also worked at a UAW plant and saw none of that. I did see GM making a point of fucking their "temporary" fill-in "sub" workers to the greatest extent possible to "prove a point" simply because they had no union cover and they could also push UAW workers not to use time off. Mangement seemingly never had that issue. At one time temps were almost guaranteed fulltime hours, and if they did a good job were hired permanently. Now they over hire, or did, specifically so they could not even call most workers more than a couple days a week.
The vast majority of issues with rejected engines were automation related...Last edited by Nickdfresh; 11-08-2023, 09:54 PM.Leave a comment:

I mailed my ballot in over the weekend. Pretty low key election here this year. Just local races. Not even any statewide ballot measures up here this year. TYT didn't do any election night coverage tonight, because they're covering the clown car debate tomorrow. It should be more hysterical than usual, with all this Gaza clusterfuckery going on.Leave a comment:

Big vote night tonight and what does slave FORD do? I can only surmise Puke Yuger is too busy in his million dollar California mansion counting his hack money to give a condescending "Of course! Of course!"Leave a comment:
