Thanks. I had a long conversation with him about how much distress/rust to put on it, to better match the slightly road-worn 80s Charvel neck...it's not TOO hammered, but does show some wear, and I didn't want a battle-scarred neck on a pristine body, and he totally got what I was talking about...I'm stoked.
With this neck (and hardware)? Yes and yes.
That is now the official "before" shot.
Not sure how long the clear will have to cure (I know he's using a new type that cures in way less time than older ones), but I can't wait to get it back and re-assemble it. But he's a very cool guy to deal with, too. We're already talking about another slightly wackier project.

Oh yeah...
It dawned on me I never posted the finished product in this thread... I ended up going with a black pickup instead of the zebra...converted it to a Custom 8 and it sounds incredible.
