It is, it details his entire life and goes into details about his dad and mother, too. It's more about the whole of Lennon's life not just about the Beatles.Leave a comment:

No problem. I used to read all the time (when I had time)
WOW, that book is 800 pages! Must be really detailed to go that long..Leave a comment:

That looks interesting, wish I had more time to read as of late.
May Pangs book is out of print, but I'm sure you could get a used copy. That's what I did. One of the funnest books about the Beatles is called "The Longest Cocktail Party" By Richard DiLello. He worked at the Apple offices, and the book details the madness that went on there. Great read.Leave a comment:

I've read a lot of Lennon stuff too, Richard Seamens book, Peter Brown, ect. But I think the best one (sort-of out of left field if you know what I mean) was May Pang's. It had quite a different view that the others, and described different situations than the rest.
And I do remember the story about Pete Best. His mother also let them practice at her house and was very encouraging of them playing..
I just finished this one, "John Lennon, The Life" by Philip Norman Amazon.com: John Lennon: The Life: Philip Norman: Books
Great read and very well written. IMO, an honest and unbiased look at Lennon's life and the people around him. Gives great detail about his family and his relationship with his Aunt.Leave a comment:

You know it is funny how much drums costs back then. I was reading a John Lennon biography and he mentioned how hard it was to find a drummer with a kit. Pete Best's mom had bought him a kit and that was why he was asked to join the band. Not because he was a good drummer but because he had a kit.Leave a comment:

Wow.
Yet another thread of Gaydar "ignoring" people and katie making friends.
Has it ever dawned on either of you idiots that maybe the problem isnt with the myriad of other posters who hate you, but actually you yourselves?
I think they both LOVE the negative attention.
Sit down and give your mind a rest.

BTW those were some cool old drum adds. I had no idea that they cost that much in the 60's...Leave a comment:
