Some songs Roth always sounds good on and some he always sounds awful. Good = Beautiful Girls and I'll Wait. Awful always = Dance The Night Away. Build the set round the songs he sounds good on and drop the ones that are painful to hear.

Yeah. you tell me I remember listening to bits of it live on the radio back in 1983...it was the fucking biggest show on earth and I wasn't there....

I was. It was hot hot hot that day. Spent a shitload of time under the huge showers they had set up to cool people off but I still felt like I wasn't gonna make it to see VH perform. The long intermission between The Scorps and VH didn't help either but my friend and I fought and shoved our way to the front of the stage only to find ourselves driven off to one side in a human stampede right before VH actually started playing. We saw their entire set from the right corner of the stage. It wasn't a bad place to end up though because it was close to the exit we needed to reach to get back to the car. Smoked the last joint my asshole buddy was kind enough to save me out of the twenty I brought that I didn't get to smoke and went to sleep. Seemed like I barely closed my eyes and I was home even though it took a couple hours to get out of the parking lot and another hour and a half on the highway.
