Lukather has clarified he was going to help produce and won't be playing guitar on anything. -
And Sammy tries to figure out how he can get in on this in 5...4...3...2...1...Leave a comment:

If I remember correctly from what Al said a few months back when he was doing a "book tour" (or whatever it was) he claimed that whatever was left in the vaults at 5150 was mostly instrumental jams. If they can make that into an album, it might be an interesting listen.
If they would come out with a proper live album from the classic VH era, that would be even better of course. I'm not going to hope for "ADKOT Vol 2" or anything of that nature, because if they really did record 30 songs back in 2012 (which was the rumor at the time) I would think the remainder of those would have been released already.
And as the leaked video footage we have seen recently clearly shows, the potential is there to release a decent Van Halen video compilation if they would just fucking pull the trigger on it. They could go full on production with it, like Jimmy Page did with the Zeppelin videos, or they could take the Gene Simmons quick cash in approach and just burn the videos to disc as they are (as long as they take the gawdawful fucking timecodes & watermark bullshit off of them, for fucks sake)Leave a comment:

New VH LP ?...
Not quite April 1 but who knows...
Alex Van Halen says a new Van Halen album is in the works – and he’s recruited Steve Lukather
to help him complete it
"If extraordinary reports coming out of the Netherlands are to be believed, Alex Van Halen is working
on a new Van Halen album – and Steve Lukather has been recruited to help him complete it."
