Maybe that's it? A lot of NYC first responders have been going over to Iraq as aid.

Question still stands... paramedic or EMT. Their job is to save and repair people not take them down...

I've spent some time in NYC the last few years... never saw an EMT armed.

A lot of times the paramedics can't go to a scene until it has been cleared by an armed officer! The other day by my business there was a home invasion and the invaders set the house on fire! The fire trucks and ambulance had to sit across the street and wait until the cops arrived before they could go into the house and save the guy that was stabbed and about to be burnt up!! Makes sense to me big city paramedics should have this training!

The reason being the paramedics are not sure there is not someone inside ready to "take them out" too!

Lil joke :tongue0011: My brother's an EMT and trust me, he wishes he was armed half the time.

But I'm serious about the NYC police, firemen, & EMTs/paramedics -- we've been sending them to Iraq as aid. A lot of those pictures look like training.

But hey, only Dave knows for sure
