It hasn’t been mentioned here as far as I’ve seen. Back in 2001, David Lee Roth played RockFest. It was a phenomenal show and Dave was pure Dave. He had 2 full hours and he pulled out a lot of tunes I hadn’t seen Dave play solo.
Here’s a link http://www.rock-fest.com/2001/index.html and Dave was the Friday night closer.
I don’t know about all the Bart Walsh and Dave information but Bart played everything note for note and the audience was really out of control. Women were throwing underwear and this party was just getting underway. The audience for the show was close to 40,000 but mind there were a few other acts there too. I didn’t matter though. Dave really kept the audience up and not too many people wandered back to their camp sites early.
We had VIP seating and the meal area was kind of behind the stage. Dave came off the stage and signed everything handed to him and he had a really long discussion with the Queensryche people. He was talking to some security as well and they all parted very happy. Lots of smiles. Some awesome looking blonde was following Dave to the bus I guess when someone yelled: Great show. He held a “thumbs up” and didn’t break stride. The guy really epitomizes rock and roll.
