It's more chilled these days here with one or so exceptions.

It's like an old car you want to keep running but doesn't seem worth rebuilding at this point.

Gotcha. People have to ruin everything. Was always handy to pop in and BS occasionally.

What happened with ADKOT has me wondering why they claimed to not have enough original material at the ready when working on Diver Down and were forced to lace the platter with cover tunes. There are numerous original riffs and melodies from the club days that didn't get touched when this last CD was made. They must have really had a low opinion of the remainder of their work. I also think retooling their originals in '82 would have been less work than researching, learning, then putting their own personal stamp on a fist full of covers. I can think of at least 10 club days original songs that I wished got the Where Were You Last Nite? to Hang'em High treatment.

Since Balance came out in...what...1994 or so, we've gotten 5 new tracks for 2 different greatest hits albums, a full length album with Cherone, and a full length album with Roth of which half the tunes were re-recorded/reworked old demos. That output represents nearly a quarter century of his career. Oh, yeah...I forgot the instrumental and the Van Hagar song he recorded for the Twister soundtrack and his work on that porn flick 11 years back. Sorry. Don't want to undersell Ed's prolific output.

I think it's clear Wolfgang was making a flippant remark. Even so, does it even matter if Ed retires?

But for as much as VH fans constantly heard about the "tons" of shit in the "vaults", there it stays.....
