RG...Thats sounds perfect. I WANT to hear it even more now. ZamboniMan...This is the perfect choice of songs.

and BTW, I used to work in an Ice Rink and am well versed in the operations of the Zamboni as well as, the Olympia.

The FUNNEST things to drive on earth!

Exactly...every time I hear Fire, I think about how cool it would've been to hear CVH cover that.

    smoking, baby!
Actually "Mean Street" took riffs from both of those songs.

But I still love the originals. Another good one was "Get The Show On The Road" which later evolved into Romeo Delight.

I also wonder what "Down In Flames" would have sounded like on Van Halen II. If you have heard the Tokyo boots from 78, it's obvious that they were still planning on recording it even at that point. It's also obvious that what they did in the end was a minor re-work of the music and then throwing lyrics to an old Linda Ronstadt song on top of it.

I'd be willing to bet that when ever Eddie needs the money and that long awaited box set finally comes out, there will be a studio quality recording of "Down In Flames" on it. And also the version of "House of Pain" that was cut from the first album.
