It's the Chorus that kills it for me...but man...it is the Song Opening I blast the most while driving down the street. I know it is Eddie just leaning into his derivative (I never had a pedal Eddie Cry) but man....I just love opening both windows and BLASTING this loud rolling down the street....until the chorus....then I start it over...hehe.

    Everyone has their own taste.

For instance the two songs I can't even name em that Dave did on the greatest hits album are in my opinion an abomination , ya can't like em all

    Roth And Roll

stay frosty (this should have been the first and ONLY "single" by the way - EPIC, rocking, fun song (and much more a tribute to La Grange than Ice Cream Man to ANYONE who knows ANYTHING about hard rock. ZZ Top on steroids and taurine. The album would have sold at least twice as many copies if this had been the lead instead of Tattoo. Wonderful album nonetheless.)

    Rank them?

Better than Van Hagar but not as good as the 6 pack.

You rank 'em. Ranking these songs is like doing an 8 sided Rubik's Cube for me. Cant even decide what my least favorite is.

You and Your Blues is very strong also. Daves lyrics are so great on this with all the nods to other songs. But to each his own I guess. I don't see how it's not one of VH's best songs ever. Its that good for me.
One of their best EVER. It's THAT good! I've let several friends of mine listen to bits of ADKOT and I always start with As Is then HBSD Their immediate reaction is always, Holy shit! Fucking VAN HALEN!!
It's almost as if CVH never went away.

I just can't rank them. I've tried, but there's too many that I like equally, and how much I like them is constantly changing too.

Without a doubt, honeybaby... and As Is are my standout favourites. You and Your Blues does nothing for me.

I love the lyrics in Trouble With Never, but musically it's...meh. I think it was thrown together to address the inevitable..."Al said DLR would never....yada yada yada". No reporter will ask that question now, they already have the answer: "that's the trouble with never..."

Bullethead? Love it, but again I think it's the lyrics doing it for me. It just slams Spam!!!

The 3rd verse in Big River leading to the solo, look both ways now little guitar screech, but they all pick it back up with Ed's unraveling followed by Dave's whooo just before the chorus.
You And Your Blues & The Trouble With Never are the deep tracks. The one's you really love at the end of the "big night." But I'm a Van Halen fan. Anything over 3 minutes 27 is too long! Just kidding!

Theories on the low placing of these cuts.
