I'd say perhaps it's somewhat easier to learn Eruption now (with plenty of tabbed sources available and youtubes showing the fret positions) than it was in the early 1980s, when so much of Ed's style was still being figured out solely by ear, but that doesn't negate the fact that you need a certain level of technical ability to play it.
I mean, I wouldn't put that girl down just because she's the umpteenth million person to play Eruption: christ, she's got a hell of a reach on her fretting hand.
toward the end of this one she does a brief power chord on the first fret with her index and middle fingers rather than the index and ring fingers...what a great reach she has, and is already using her pinky finger nearly as much as her other three...
Technically, if she sticks with it, she's gonna be a monster. Like, if she's just 14 now and keeps playing and practicing, I shudder to think of how good she'll be by the time she gets out of high school.
