Actually, it seems the Comcast/Universal empire sends all their best writers to the USA channel now. I'd take "White Collar" or "Royal Pains" over any of the newer shows on the NBC network itself.

Then you really should pick up some of Randy Wayne White's novels set on the lower west coast of Florida. The main character is named Doc Ford, a man who studies marine life, is a former government operative and often calls on the skills of both when solving mysteries or saving friends in peril. It's a highly entertaining series of books, and well worth the time spent reading them.
