Note - "The Word", capitalized. And as the first chapter of John reminds us, "The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." So in other words, Fineman is not only comparing Junior's pathetic speech to the Sermon on the Mount, but actually comparing the Idiot himself to Jesus Christ! The closest thing to a sermon I can remember. Not on the Mount, but on Capitol Hill, complete with the appropriate references to Martin Luther King! The Republicans around me were applauding, but I think they understood—and perhaps were made a bit nervous by—their man’s ambition. And what was his “realist” dad thinking up there on the dais?
Now all George W. Bush—and the rest of us—have to do is live up to The Word.
But then what else would you expect from a member of the Great Whore of Babylon that enables the Antichrist?
