I like their interpretation with the more curvy body shape, that's original.

The headstock looks a bit ghey though..

HEY if it plays well and you like it, all you need after that is a good bridge pickup.

I bought a LP copy from them, I compared it to a real standard, and it was better made lol. Fretwork was great.

It was a agile and not a SX though but I still want it.

    It's freaking $149 lol

I played a bunch of real Gibson Les Pauls at Mars Music when they were still in business and the fretwork on some were horrible. Uneven dressing and ends sticking out passed the edge of the neck. Very inconsistant guitar to guitar. I actually thought the fretwork on the cheap Epiphone Les Pauls was pretty damn good compared to the expensive Gibson ones.

That was what impressed me so much about the Korina V and Explorer I got. Granted, I would have bought them anyway if the quality was less than it is, as I only paid 300 bucks new for the V, and 300 bucks used (in new condition with the protective plastic still on the pickguard) for the Explorer. But I'll be damned if the quality is not absolutely superb! The only bitch I have is that the pickups suck. The V cannot be played with any distortion at all or the sorry pickups "Skweel lahk a pig!". The Explorer can be played at a decent volume, but the pickups are really weak.

Eventually I will get some Seymour Duncan PAFs to put in both of them. And then they will be almost identical to 58s and 59s that I cannot afford cause I don't have $100,000 smackers lying around to blow.

I remember going into Zoo Music in Dallas back in the early 1980s and seeing several Ibanez Korina V copies for cheap. And actually, the nicest Les Paul I ever played in my life was a wine-red Ibanez Les Paul copy. Meaning, the playability and the tone were better than almost any other Les Paul I have ever played or heard...

    Speaking of copies:

    http://www.dillionguitars.com/vseries/index.html

Look for the Wolfgang copy, and the Brian May style bass...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

Heck, I would rather just shell out the same price and get an exact replica of a Gibson made by Epiphone.

But Elvis, for that Price, you could get a mid-range Tokai LP copy. Superb guitars.

I prefer the sharper lines of the Destroyer II over that rounded
    Rondo....

But I would play that Rondo, still a cool looking axe.

Yeah but you gotta see their LPs.

Also, SRV played a Tokai strat early on.

Oh yeah, you have to get the Japanese Tokais. The Korean made Tokais are cheaper and still nice guitars, but the Japanese ones are really top notch, they look closer to Gibsons, and surpasses Gibson Standards. *They also have more expensive Japanese models that far surpass all those custom shop ones*

I have an Epiphone LP and SG Custom. The weak point in Epiphones is cheap electronics meaning pickups, switches, and pots. Both the guitars I have are very playable, have great natural tone, and the binding, inlay, and fret work on the SG is really good. No problems with tuners (Grovers on the LP and Kluson copies on SG). I actually can live with the pickups on the SG so those are stock. Replaced the LP with Seymour Duncans and replaced the switch, pots, and jack with higher quality components. It sounds great and if it gets scratched or dinged, who cares. I love it.
