Who's going to win Best Actor?
Don Cheadle--Hotel Rwanda
Johnny Depp--Finding Neverland
Leonardo DiCaprio--The Aviator
Clint Eastwood--Million Dollar Baby
Jamie Foxx--Ray
Who's going to win Best Actor?
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."
Clint.
I bet it is a huge night for his boxing movie.
Here's why it HAS to be Clint...
the others cancel each other out...
I've seen four of the five flicks...
and let's face facts here...Foxx's performance is no fucking better than DiCaprio's in The Aviator..and I thought Cheadle was better than both of those...
Depp is the flavor of the decade...and I hear this film wasn't that good of a biopick...
and Eastwood was damn good in Million Dollar Baby...without giving up the ending...
He's gotta win...
screw fucking Jamie Foxx...give him supporting...and Ray was good...but c'mon...is it really anything different than anything we've ever seen? And would he be winning if Ray Charles didn't fucking die?
I'm not a huge Awards show fan...but I obviously have to vote for Clint Eastwood...

Clint is one badass old motherfucker...
Thinking Best Director, Supporting Actor, Actress ... all of it.
It's gonna be a sweep, bigger than UNFORGIVEN.
I don't know about that...
I do think Foxx is going to win this award...
but I think he's third on the list...behind Eastwood and Cheadle...
Foxx is winning on Oprah fucking hype...
I hate fucking Oprah. The guy is not Ray, and if he even acts half-convincing towards the idea that he IS Ray, people will vote for him. It's stupid.
Anyway, these are some of the reasons I don't like Awards shows. Nobody tells me what is best. If one believes awards, they would tell you that Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey were more important for music than Led Zeppelin or Brian Wilson.
Don Cheadle, was a Boogie 'Knight! He went from porn star, to electronics entrepeneur, to a righteous Schindler like dude.
Sorry, But i think Foxx's performance in Ray was awesome.
"Million Dollar Baby" sucked in my opinion.
Clint was excellent as usual, but Swank? Give me a break.
In all honesty, the movie of the year wasn't even nominated, it was snubbed, and it was "The Passion of the Christ".
I'm going for it being a big night for Foxx, and not just because i have been a lifelong fan of Ray Charles, it's because Foxx did a great job portraying him.
Cheadle's twice the actor as Foxx...
Yes he is. People wanted something great and heartwarming with RAY. It was, frankly, pretty surprising to see Hollywood allow for a big production about the Rwandan Genocide.Originally posted by POJO_Risin

Anyway, Cheadle is an excellent actor. I don't know if almost anyone ever saw his performance as Sammy Davis Jr., but it was really good.
Hell, Val Kilmer did an amazing Jim Morrison...but it doesn't mean he deserved an Oscar for it.
I thought Passion of the Christ sucked ass...it was all hype...
I liked the realism of it...but again...when I went and saw it...I didn't see anything that shocked or suprised me...
or anything that I haven't seen before...
and dude...Ray is EVERY OTHER FREAKIN' Music Biopic....
I watched it today for the second time...to see if I missed something. Look...I like Jamie Foxx...but it's not any better than The Aviator...and it doesn't touch Cheadle in freakin' Hotel Rwanda...
christ...the best part of Ray was his mom and the kid...when he first went blind...AND FOXX WASN'T EVEN IN THE SCENE!
plain and simple...he's up because Charles died...period...
Cheadle...and Eastwood had superior movies...go see Hotel Rwanda...and you'll see what I mean...
Good analogy with Val Kilmer...
Swank was good...I didn't like her until this movie...lmfao...now I think she's hot...other than being married to that fucking dork Chad Lowe...
That was a good film, but not a great film...and it certainly wasn't accurate. Kilmer was great, but the film was not that different from other rock star movies.Originally posted by POJO_Risin
Good analogy with Val Kilmer...
Rock biopics ARE always the same...and the emotions are always the same.
Cheadle did something a little new (or at least not as formula as what Foxx did).
And Eastwood is just an amazing actor...very under-rated, simply because he was a big action star.

I'll admit, I didn't see Hotel Rwanda, so i can't argue that point.
I will check it out though.
The thing is, nobody gets these awards for the reasons they should, that's how my opinions lean.
I like Don Cheadle, i have since Boogie Nights, so i'd be pleased to see him win.
Cheadle won't win because of what you said...that's probably the 1 film that deserved to be there in the simple sense...
but I do think Million Dollar Baby was the best film I've seen...and I'd tie it with Rwanda...
...and I mean best film I've seen in the sense that I wasn't watching for fucking, explosions...or laughs...lmfao...
"And would he be winning if Ray Charles didn't fucking die?"
That's why I'm thinking he's going to win it. The others have been back-biting each other.
Unboard the storefronts!
No riots tonight!
I wanted him to get it sooooooooooo bad after i watched him and Ray working together.
Congrat's Jamie!!!!!
Very predictable and the ending was very unrealistic...Originally posted by POJO_Risin

Who's CHAD LOWE?
He's Rob's little brother that has done very little acting wise.
Nope, Swank is married to Chad, they stopped dating a long time ago.
Actually, he asked her to marry him right after his career ended and her's was picking up steam.
It took a lot for him to sit there and try to look like a man, albeit a kept man.
Something about her just turns me off though, i never cared much for her.
Thanks for the info. I do find her very attractive, but she needs to gain weight, that's for sure. But I think it's her attitude. She was on SNL not too long ago and was making fun of everyone. She seems cool and seems to have a head on her shoulders. And she's obviously whacked when it comes to men...PERFECT!Originally posted by Cathedral

Personally, I don't think anyone should win an Oscar for doing an impersonation. It's when you make a character your own that it's convincing.
Foxx didn't deserve to win for his "impersonation."
But since he did, perhaps Rich Little can start working again and pick up his Oscar next year for some impersonations...unless of course he's dead. Is he breathing?
I like to pay close attention to the things I'll forget later...
