    what are you cockteases reading?

I'm in, for whatever reason, this reading urge. Completely weird to me because I usually don't like to.

I've read Jennifer Government by Max Barry and White Noise by Don DeLillo and re-read American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis.

And now...now I don't know wtf to go get. I'm very picky with a lot of things and books happen to be one of them. I usually like weird stories. Something light yet attention-grabbing.

So what are you bitches reading? One of you have to have some suggestion that sounds appealing.

Well, for something light yet attention grabbing I'd suggest Terry Pratchett or Stephen King. Terry Pratchett writes comedy fantasy stories, whereas Stephen King is a master in horror tories (duh!) but what appeals to me in King's works is that his characters are always so REAL. Grate reading, those two. I can tell you a couple more if you like, I'm an avid reader myself.

    Cheers! :bottle:

A crappy copy of "The Marquis de Sade and His Accomplice."

THAT was reprinted in the volumnous "Marquis De Sade: Justine, Philosophy in the Bedroom, and Other Writings" that I started on, then decided to read the original.

    I don't like the reprints...editors schmeditors.

    Fascinating stuff.

    Denis Johnson.

Either "Angels" or "Resusitation of a Hanged Man". Among my fave contemporary authors. Heavy though. If you don't want death taking place in your books, avoid.

David Sedaris is great, very funny, enjoyable, light autobiographical essays. Either "Naked" or "Me Talk Pretty One Day".

Philip Roth is also really great enjoyable literature. "American Pastoral".

Also of the heavier variety, but ths time true essays: "INto the Wild" and "Into Thin Air". I forget the authors name, but really good.

Oh, and the funniest author working today: Christopher Buckley. "Thank You For Smoking" is far and away the best. His last one was fun...the title was something like "The First Wives Tale" or something.

I would DEFINITELY no matter what pick up some Dave Sedaris.

For some GRATE horror, really fucking HORRIFIC stuff, look no further than Bentley Little. His longer stories usually end up sucking in the end (the finales are usually anti-climatic and the conflict too easily solved), but the graphic gore and pornography level sex content pretty well make up for it along the way.

Another really grate, often overlooked horror writer is Robert McCammon.

Just finished William Gibson's "Neuromancer". (cyberpunk)

Might as well pick up something else from the local library a bit later today...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

The Dirt is the greatest piece of American Literature ever written.
The name Sammy Hagar conjures up a variety of emotions from music fans--from hate to contempt, from disgust to revulsion.

The one good thing about The Matrix movie is that it allowed people to finally visualize what the hell was going on in that book....

Also, you said I was a "suck fuck" originally, not a "sick fuck", so the mistake is apparent...anybody could have taken being called a "suck fuck" for a compliment, my bad.

Well, I'm sorry, but we only accept Wiccans, Christians and Sith Lords in our newsletter subscribers. Do you fit into any of the above catagories?

Furthermore, are you a member of the Kirk Cameron message boards?

Are you talking about the whole concept, or the way people "jacked in" to the 'net?

And now...now I don't know wtf to go get. I'm very picky with a lot of things and books happen to be one of them. I usually like weird stories. Something light yet attention-grabbing.

So what are you bitches reading? One of you have to have some suggestion that sounds appealing.
Have you read "Lovely Bones?" by Alice Sebold. Its excellent.

Right now I am reading "The Vanished Man" by Jeffery Deaver, and its also very good.

My mom read that. She didn't like it too much.

See, the thing is, I'm not really into murder mysteries or any of those type things. I was really hoping someone had something off the wall and unusual.
