What's your favorite bootleg or demo track?

I like Big Trouble (1977) the best.

Mine used to be that but now it's a tie between Let's Get Rockin' and Light In The Sky (no that's not the same song as "Light Up The Sky" from VH II).

Second would be, Put out the Lights, third would be She's the Woman

I really like Little Dreamer from Nagoya Japan 1978, there is something about Eddie's solo that he never captured again.
Right Now Van Halen must need money! Right now I'll go see Dave in Vegas.

Gotta love the ORIGINAL House of Pain. Get The Show On The Road and Last Night are pretty kick ass too. Even though all three of these songs would eventually make it to the vinyl after some major alterations, I prefer the originals.

    We Die Bold.

Mike's backing vocals on this one are pretty damn impressive.

"Last night" and "Angel Eyes" are great too. Is "Angel eyes" originally VH?

    "Covers Band From Pasadena"

"We're Van Halen from Pasadena, sayin': all right tonight on a Saturday night. Playin' and playin', well just so we get you people dancin' n' romancin' and the whole garbage pail full of things you do on a Saturday night." Classic.
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

I really like "Bright Lights Big City" from 1980 London Invasion. This is Van Halen playing the blues basically.
Great Roth monologue and trading licks with Eddie kinda like the intro to Yankee Rose.
Shame about the mediocre sound quality though.

That song was actually recorded at Cherokee studios in 1973 when Mark Stone was the bass player.
