AMAZING ...Tapping on acoustic

This cat is amazing. Probably an Edward fan I'm sure as well as Jeff Healy and Stan Jordan. I've been playing for over 20 years (damn I'm gettin old) but could never unconventionly control the flow and tone as this cat can. AMAZING. Anyone know of him/them?

Cool obviously but I think there are quite a few that seem to be even better.

Stanley Jordan who you mention(what the fuck ever happened to him?) to me is on a whole different level of crazy guitar playing.

I learned that in 20 minutes when I got home drunk from a club years ago one night and I'm a mediocre guitarist.

Eddie has been pretty washed up for 20 years now and you definitely can't compare him to these people.

Erik is a young self-taught guitarist and composer, 26 years old, born in Montreal, has been playing guitar since the age of 14.

He was mainly interested in sports, had never played guitar, but began to pick it up by ear. After incursions into Metallica and Jimi Hendrix, his first real inspiration began with Kurt Cobain and Nirvana.

Erik earns a living from his music in every possible venue: metro musician, street musician, and public musician in Europe and United States.

A musician who strums and taps his original compositions on a guitar laid flat down. This great blend of sounds from around the world is no run of the mill music.

But from the looks of his birth and timeframe of guitar playing, I bet Ed may have had something to do with it for Don's influences. The lap part of Erik more than likely came from the autoharp/zither or from countries steel guitar.

svrwthr nice post. I like this guy already. Talent, nice sound, and I love the acoustic side of the guitar as much as the electric, so I'm going to dig in and find more to watch.

Atkins was able to pull off stuff Ed couldn't dream about doing...doesn't diminish what Ed did for me, but I will agree that Atkins is just on a higher plane in terms of playing than Ed ever was.

I remember asking my dad when I was 15 if and when he would buy me a real Gibson. His answer: "When you can play like Chet Atkins"...
