    Pitch Locker

Ok, heres one for all the guitarists here. How much does this piss you off ?? You put in a CD, tune up to it, Jam along, then put in a different CD, you have to fucking retune again. Even worse if you want to play along with a compilation CD. Retunes every few songs...

Has anyone seen a piece of software that locks songs (on the fly) into a certain pitch ? I have seen software that will allow you to adjust the pitch and speed of a song, but thats just as painful, you may aswell tune your guitar on each song.

A Pitch locker, run the software and it automatically keeps all the songs in the same pitch/key.

Anyone know of such a beast ? If its out there, Im buying !

Now before you think Im crazy, Ive seen things that almost do this. But havent come across exactly what I want.. DJ mixers use pitch lockers between CD players, and also Ive seen many CD players with pitch control. We just need one that auto-adjusts the pitch as each
song is played... Its gotta be out there !

I've heard of something similar, but I can't remember what it was called. I'll ask around for you.

I'm downloading the free version now to see what it can do, which i'm sure isn't much for free, lol.

I just want to record compilation CD's then be able to play
them all in the same pitch.. That would rock !

Im awaiting a response from them.. You might figure it out
    before I hear from them

Years ago I got a copy of some software that will do this, up or down a full octave.

But you'll have to rerecord the song off the cd first to the chosen pitch.

Can't think of the name right now, but I believe it was a Swiss or German company. Program version I got was dated 1998 and the piece is in storage or I'd offer it.

http://www.filesland.com/download/pitch.html - here's some crap I can't see or d/l with SurfControl on this PC so have at it.

i write/ play in lots of tunings anyway,
and you get fast after a while,
but with a locking trem guitar
    it is a nightmare.

i've found the pitch control works.

GAR, what you had sounds perfect, I dont mind re-recording the songs.
I couldnt find the exact solution on your link. Theres a CD player with pitch control "WinCD" but you cant record the output.
I wish you could remember the name

Its a piece of piss to retune a guitar without locking trem..
But its still a pain in the ass if you have to do it every
few songs. Yes the pitch control works (WinCD) but even
then you have to fuck around with the pitch control.
So you may aswell just retune..

I wanna remove the fuck around aspects, all around.
Even if I have to adjust each song and re-record them,
thats cool, but I havent found anything yet that does
it. Brownsound1 reckons he might have it somewhere,
GAR and others have mentioned something exists...

What pisses me off is I know there is technology out
there that can do this on the fly... (No re-recording).
Those dual CD players that DJ's fuck around with lock
the pitch of the two CD's together. So you would think
a reference tone (ie "E") would be shit simple to pitch
lock to, as opposed to pitch locking two songs together...

the program Im thinking of came on one floppy - i cant even get into my storage unit to find it and tell you the name but it was a German sounding company

I worked at a piano store in hollywood when some telemarketer asked if I was interested "yeah I'll take a look at it" but never did.
