I personally would love a release of snippets and song ideas. They could put out a double CD of Ed dicking around with ideas that are no where NEAR close to completion and I’d happily plunk down the green to hear it. Heck, take some of those follow up Cherone songs and strip away the vocals. I’d like to believe that in all of the vault, there are some things to enjoy, even if they are clips that top out at 55 seconds.

I know Ed once mentioned his high school talent show performance was on film. He said people are gonna trip when they see that. If I were Al and I had no intention sitting behind the kit again, I would get on the ball with making a film/video project that enshrines Ed. I find it outrageous (but not surprising) that he’s only made an ill fated attempt at a tribute show or mini-tour and he’s on social media for the sole purpose of wishing Ed a happy birthday and telling him he misses him every October 6th. Come on mother fucker! It’s been almost 3.5 years! Pick up the ball and do something!

I think Wolfshit is too busy picking and choosing Ed's unreleased stuff to steal and put on his own crappy albums. Regardless, I'm not a big fan of raiding the vaults for unreleased stuff after someone dies. UNLESS it's of a performance where they knew cameras were present. The thought of digging through someone's stuff--that they chose to keep to themselves--and releasing it for the world to see bothers me. When someone dies do they really want people going through all their old shit? And showing the world, no less? Imma throw all my old shit away before that happens. Like I need someone to see some old note some chick wrote me in high school outing me as a simp, fuck that!

Understandable. My standpoint comes from having heard Ed say for fifteen years that he’s got ten albums worth of music in the can. Ok. Give me one.

And you just reminded me. I’ve got some old letters and shit to throw out.

I recall a shoebox up in my garage filled with old high school letters and pics. I think I'll go home tonight, crack it open, jerk off, and then fire up the BBQ!

What a hard moment for CVH fans lately...
Ed is dead. Al is retired. Dave is too, somehow, though he still can release a tune now and then, be it a song he made a few years ago with John 5. There's nothing we can expect from the CVH camp, as far as archive releases.
And... The Assclown in chief won't call it quits. Arrrrrgh... He has to make himself conspicuous and twist the knife by claiming his share of the pie he only cuntributed to spoil.
And... Ed's fucking kid, who triggered Dave's comeback on stage with Ed, eventually proves to be a sneaky little bastard by spitting on diehard fans and somehow CVH, attacking Dave publicly and supporting the Assclown's announced mock-VH tour.
There is sure a shitload of stuff to say about all of it, but what a pain in the guts, really.

The six pack - bootleg live shows, audio and video help ease the pain.

When they go through Von Halen’s hard drive they will also find picks of him 3rd row at the ‘Balance’ Tour making that gay Van Hagar signal with his hands! And another of you topless twisting your nipples like that creepy guy in The Silence of the Lambs when you were inside the rings at the 2004 Van Hagar reunion!

BUT...if you're Sammy Hagar, this supposed HUGE rock star, and the opening act for your "reunion tour tribute" thingy is Loverboy...that's pretty sad.

In terms of the lack of Van Halen box sets, vhs/dvd releases of old footage or deluxe editions of the 6 pack albums chock full of outtakes or whatnot I can't blame Eddie's kid, either.

Van Halen should have been doing that type of stuff in tangible physical media form between 1996 and 2006, before Wolfgang was part of the band.

Fuck, instead of just recording an album with Roth in 1996 and touring with the classic lineup - which is what everybody wanted - Eddie had to first futz around with Gary Cherone, THEN do a Van Hagar reunion nobody was particularly asking for before eventually submitting to a Roth reunion ten years too late.

Far as the 'fuck the fans. I do what I want' attitude, Eddie Van Halen's kid is just demonstrating learned behavior.

Shit, after nearly 40 years of seeing CVH devolve first into the Sammy Hagar Synth Pop Express then blow an easy-peasy Roth reunion to diddle with the lead singer of Extreme then flush a CVH reunion down the toilet so we can get the...er, "wonder' of Eddie Van Halen's kid, this recent stuff Van Halen fanwise is just another day/par for the course.

It's like, even after Eddie's death, this band remains the Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight. Of COURSE they can't hit the target. Their aim has sucked since 1984.

What did Kirk say to Khan in STAR TREK II?

"Like a poor marksman, you keep MISSING THE TARGET!"

    That was Van Halen.

The 1996 Roth reunion - a PROPER reunion with an entire album and a tour - was a case of everything being lined up and ready to go in theory. Even if Ed insisted on getting a hip replacement before the tour, fine. They could have taken as much time as needed to write the material for the album, record it, let Ed tend to and mend his injuries and rehearse for the tour.

Eddie just didn't want to do it. He wanted to do it all his way.

2000, after 4 years of Eddie doing it his way, Cherone was out. Dave was still ready to go. Mike was still in the band at that point. Everything was lined up in theory for ANOTHER bite at the apple.

Nope. Ed opted to drink himself into oblivion, then after a couple years of that do a half-assed Van Hagar reunion.

Honestly, as dysfunctional or fucked up or whatever the band was back in the 1970's and first half of the 1980's, they turned out a great album and a tour pretty much once a year like clockwork. From 1985 to 1998, Van Halen recorded less, toured less, sold less albums with each subsequent release...with Van Halen, the legend was already cemented when Dave left in 1985. Everything else that transpired after 1985 (including the stuff Dave was involved with) wasn't as good. The reunion took too long to happen. Ed took too long to get sober. Too many years were pissed away. Too much of Ed's talent was pissed away...by Ed. The Van Halens and Roth did the best they could come 2007 with what they had left, but too much had been frittered away since 1985. And THAT is the fucking shame of it...THAT is the shame of Van Halen: all that ability and talent. But Ed became successful and earned the right to drink his talent away. Dave became successful and earned the right to quit the band.

    Bozdeybozdeybop...de de bop.

What do you mean by being released?

The 1980 Rainbow Theatre show has been out there in boot trading circles for a little over 20 years now.

That's the fucking lamest fucking Tweet EVER.

Wolfgang's 1st album came out almost HALF A DECADE ago.

By the time his dad's 1st album was HALF A DECADE old, he was headlining his biggest-ever show at the US FESTIVAL for half a million people.

Here is Wolfgang...opening for fucking Creed. CREED!!!!!!!!!!!!

    FUCKING pathetic.

P.S. The opening act for this summer's "Van Halen tribute" sham is fucking Loveboy.

LOVERBOY!!!! (When I was an eight-year-old, growing up in Toronto, my friends and I would be in the playground making fun of LOVERBOY!!!)

How the living fuck do the Sammy & Wolfgang sheep look at themselves in the mirror and not think they're fucking crazy???
This seems like a natural progression for the fucking kid™... riding his name recognition is falling in value fast. A few big acts cashed him in and now he's sliding down the ranks of opening for progressively lesser acts... heading straight to the county fair and casino touring circuits.

There's only so much emotional milage to be milked out of Edward's death to keep him in the popular ranks. Clearly his 2nd album and musical talents aren't skyrocketing him to fame...

Uh, have you seen where Creed is playing, and how this tour is selling? No, I don't get it, but this will probably be one of the top tours of the summer.

    Agreed.

Its tanking hard. No one cares and he doesn't have the looks to sustain any sort of public image because hes a fat slob.

Perhaps he can go the Lizzo route and be a champion for fatties. Start saying "its ok to be fat. Fat is beautiful".

Isn't that what his Mom is doing now? She probably got fired from that kids baking show for eating everything in sight.

There was a shooting day last year for her kids' baking show when one of the kids was missing for 90 minutes. For the last 45 minutes, they were starting to consider that Val Sr. had actually EATEN the kid.

When that happened, there was no going back for her.

Von Halen, where do you rank the Creed tour with the I Was In Van Halen Too tour? Which gets priority in your wallet? Were you going to get the Creed tickets and then kicked yourself because you sprung for the Hagar backstage VIP package? You may have to settle for a Creed parking lot T shirt instead of official merch. I'm just hoping you are able to attend both shows, I know what these memory-rich reunions mean to you!

Yes dude, yes. This fucker is so lazy and self entitled he's never worked for anything or earned his way. Therefore he thinks he can get on stage and look like a wet tub of goo and we'll cooze all over him. You have to at least look the part and show the effort. If your music sucks at least people will appreciate the effort. That's how my band has survived this long!

You gotta kinda feel for Wolf. Born to a fat narcissistic bitch and a confused druggie. Both talented artists. He grew up with money, food, prostitutes, and drugs everywhere. Both his parents banging random people. No one raising him or being with him on the reg. He was even born looking like he had Downs, likely a result of two people who look like brother-sister procreating (how come nobody ever talks about this?). Then he overachieves and marries an absolute dime piece and he has to cuntstantly look over his porky shoulder now because he knows he outkicked his coverage. He’s grossly overweight, sweaty and unkempt. You can smell his photos. He behaves like a spoiled rich only child, engages trolls on Twitter, talks like a smug asshole, his early career is fading, and even David Lee Roth is telling everyone he’s a dick. He’s been resorted to opening for Creed and is now pals with Hagar. He basically went from the cool lunch table to hanging with the retarded kids. There’s a massive fall from grace coming. Let’s start a death pool for this kid, for the reaper’s shadow cometh.

He doesn't have to worry about her bailing until after the first kid. She wants a kid with that Van Halen last name. It will be sooner than later if the first one is a boy. That will be her meal ticket for the future. I wonder what she thinks about the fat Wolf boy being such a mama's boy? No way her and Val will see eye to eye for long.

I wouldn't say she was the worst actress to ever appear on a sitcom or made-for-tv movie...

...but I have more than a bit of hard time thinking of Valerie Bertinelli as a 'talented artist'...although obviously Wolfgang WAS raised by a couple of celebrities.

I took a look at ADKOT on Spotify and the number of streams are still there.
In all it was at 22,929,517.
Roughly 91 to 100,000 dollars gross(depending on the pay rate to VH .004-.005 cents?).
So the artists rights holders would get roughly 60 to 70 thousand.
This doesn't tally up other streaming platforms.
It's short sighted to take it off streaming.
It does add some extra dollars to the overall catalog.

Some of the songs have more spins that a few classic tracks and Hagar era shit.
    In order of Spotify streams:
    1.Tattoo 3,222,075
    2.She's the Woman 2,194,378
    3.You and Your Blues 1,295,328
    4.Stay Frosty 1,251,386
    5.China Town 1,219,637
    6.Blood and fire 1,073,737
    7. As is 946,140
    8.Outta Space 926,083

Roughly 91 to 100,000 dollars gross(depending on the pay rate to VH .004-.005 cents?).
So the artists rights holders would get roughly 60 to 70 thousand.
This doesn't tally up other streaming platforms.
It's short sighted to take it off streaming.
It does add some extra dollars to the overall catalog.

Some of the songs have more spins that a few classic tracks and Hagar era shit.
    In order of Spotify streams:
    1.Tattoo 3,222,075
    2.She's the Woman 2,194,378
    3.You and Your Blues 1,295,328
    4.Stay Frosty 1,251,386
    5.China Town 1,219,637
    6.Blood and fire 1,073,737
    7. As is 946,140
    8.Outta Space 926,083
    9.Bullethead 871,176
    10.Big River 863,389
    11.Honey Baby Sweetie Doll 851,566
    12.Trouble With Never 774,143
    13. Beats Workin 764,728
No surprise that the one song everyone supposedly “hated” when the album came out had the most streams.
