Mistakes, deliberate and otherwise in the classic six !

Lets hear all those little moments that were recorded that
may have been mistakes or otherwise...

I'll start with the obvious change in bass volume on
    "So this is Love"

Theres a famous one involving "Rain" too.. which album
    was that ?????
BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
    Love ya Mary Frances!

The harmonics at the end of the solo of Where Have All The Good Times Gone are a mistake according to EVH himself. I like the way it sounds anyway.

Rain? The only rain I've heard is on 'Could This Be Magic?' off of WACF. It might be intentional.

Could this be magic? - Dave is keeping time patting his leg and he goes off beat.

I like... I like the way the line runs up the back of the stockings!
Don't know if it was intentional, that Roth came in early after the break.

And I know this is not of the classic six, but on the Warner Bros Demos, Dave starts the second verse of YRGM too late and that causes Edward to screw up. Cool!

Maybe this one : on "Romeo delight", after the "feel my heart beat" breakdown the band comes in rather messy, but this could be intended!

In 'Feel your love tonight' when the guitar riff comes in after the accapella piece, Ed's hand is slipping to far at one point.

You mean Nicolette Larson? She was also produced by Ted Templeman, signed to WB in '79 or so. Ted wanted her on the VH record for some reason.

I was gonna bring the same part up. He misses the harmonic and catches the open string instead.

I agree, it sounds cool as it is.

It was... think they recorded it on Dave's back porch if memory serves.

On 5150 they recorded with a stand-in lead vocalist, and forgot to mix Roth's voice back in. They actually released the album that way. There's some jackass singing on it, not Roth!

Anybody notice on the cassette version (maybe vinyl too) of 1984 you can hear Dave say "Whoah!" really low after Hot For Teacher? Don't think it was a mistake but something I always noticed when listening to it in the headphones.

Are you sure that's a mistake? Did you read it somewhere?

I think it's on purpose; there's no way nobody noticed it, it's too drastic.

Cool idea for a thread, by the way.

I believe it was VH II, they opened up the back door to clear all the smoke from the control room when it was pouring rain, cant remember what song it was offhand though, and you REALLY have to try hard to hear the rain, Dave mentioned this in his book, maybe someone could dig that story out so we could find out what song it was....

Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love--opening riff there's a mistake (Ed plays the same note twice)

Jump--keyboard mistake at 3:58 (have to turn it up loud to hear it)

Dancing In The Street--end of the tremolo scale Ed hits a C# instead of a D

Towards the end of the Hang 'Em High solo, Ed starts slipping around a little bit...

For some reason after the guitar/keyboard solos on the Jumo video, Dave yells what sounds like "Hello", yet it's not on the album...don't know if I'd quite call it a mistake as just plain odd...

You're No Good was like Pretty Woman in that they strayed from the arrangement at times...

Doesn't quite qualify in the classic 6, but I have one of the early pressings of BOV1 where RWTD has some weird editing going on, like a cut-and-paste job of first and second verses and choruses all mixed up...
