    So apparently an 81 year old woman has throat surgery.... in some fly by night clinic, and NOT an actual hospital?

                            It's not unusual to have an old patient flat line during surgery. Usually the anesthesiologist can bring them back. One of the risks of operating on old people.

                                A lot of surgery is done out of hospitals now. Why? Hospitals have gotten too expensive so surgeons go out on their own and build a surgical center.

                                    I would think the malpractice insurance would be a whole bunch more at some stand alone clinic, than at a hospital.

                                    My Son's malpractice insurance is covered by the hospital.
