I know it's the wrong record but it would kick ass if they did Easy Street. But anything they play is gonna be awesome. I'm just excited to hear and see it. And it's been a while since I got excited about anything DLR related.

I'd say he overstayed his welcome already. The reunion tour was needed, for better or worse & so was the "new" album. They should've called it a day right then & there.
I'll say straight out with no hesitations that Roth CARRIED the 2008 show I saw. Ed wasn't in any condition to play to audiences paying premium prices. Wolfie was virtually inaudible. Alex was spot-on, but Roth did an outstanding job at the 2008 show I saw. He didn't 'forget the fucking words, man', the monologues between songs were kept to a bare minimum, and Roth was singing the tunes well. Frankly, going into that show I was wondering if Roth was going to be up for it, because the shows I saw in 2005 and 2006 were entertaining, but Dave was clearly coasting through them and not putting out maximum effort. But Roth brought his A game to the 2007/2008 shows. No doubt.

And I'll agree that a reunion did need to happen. Least it did as far as I was concerned. Yeah, Anthony should have been there in 2007/2008 (and beyond), but I was willing to make the concession rather than just write the band off. Because I wanted to see Roth and Eddie blazing through those tunes again, and if the band had ended on a shitty note like the 2004 Van Hagar reunion tour...I mean, fuck, I wouldn't wish that kind of death on my worst enemy.

Well, 2007/2008 was good. 2012 saw all the Van Halens rehearsed, on point and delivering a professional set night after night. Sadly, in 2012 Dave wasn't quite up to the task anymore. And from what I saw of the 2015 shows, it was pretty much along the same lines as 2012: the Van Halens (ALL of them, Wolfie included) are carrying Dave.

Hey, it's not a situation that makes me particularly happy, but a different kind of truth is that the best shot the band had to REALLY come back strong was in 1996. By the time 2007 rolled around, it was sadly a case of too many years the band really didn't have to piss away wasted, and time is working against them now more and more with each new tour.

Do you think she'd croon me a few Simply Red tunes while I burgled her turds?

No original lead singer and no new material makes that a cover band, a damn good one but a cover band... one does not call a Rembrandt a Rembrandt if one of his students copied his style

Hell yeah! Tonight is the night! After too many years of no work, Diamond David Lee Ralph returns to the bright lights and big sounds with the original EEAS band!! So make sure you stock up on plenty of cheap American beers! In the words of David Lee Ralph himself: "The more you drink, the better we'll sound..."

What time does the show start?? I gotta get good and lubed up for this one. And I gotta drank some beers first too!

Rembrandt was one guy. I'm not convinced a band with one different member is a cover band. Any idea what they're calling this band?
