Hello everyone, I just bought a 1997 orville les paul custom, I think it is fantastic, I was just wondering if anybody else has one, or has played one?! As a second guitar it cost me $450 + dilivery from japan, and i love it! I would love some other opinions........

So he's saying then that Gibson has a Japo line called "Orville", or what?
I'm guessing "jap-market-only" if so because they wouldn't let that in the USA through the proper channels. Guitar Center would carry 'em in a hot second if that were the case.
Give us some more pics, especially of the reverse of the headstock, and the bound cutaway horn and end of fingerboard. And a shot of the controls cavity with plate removed if you would?Comment

yeah, it was only sold in japan in 1988-1999, you can get them for bargains on ebay.... like meee!!! well anyway, some come with usa pickups, and they are very very very good quality, they made them because other japaniese companies were cashing in on their designs, so they made top quality guitars; ONLY for sale in japan. Towards the end, they made them in korea, and then, because worldwide demand was too high, they changed to epiphone japan. The 1988-1992 have a small 'by gibson' on the headstock- these are seen as the best quality!!! but all of them are good (im putting seymour duncans in mine anyway!)Comment
