    Wolfapalooza 2007, a Parent's Perspective

    ***Disclaimer***

I still am of the mind this whole thing is a spED king-hell power-play Mindfuck, and someone else will be touring

Assuming for a moment Mommy Dearest allows this circus to leave town......

What are The Van Halens' plans for young Wolfie on this tour?

And how would the parents in here handle it?

Will Val be coming along to look after young Wolf?

Can the first Van Halen Stage Mom Rider be in the works as we speak?

Does the Rider include Flintstone's Chewables, with all the purple ones removed?

Will spED demand Wolf take all of his groupies to his room, so as to not be a witness to The Heir's parties?

How much extra "staff" will Wolf be assigned? Tutor? You'd think if VALium has anything to say....

Do you think spED would allow him to tour with anyone else out there now? Or is this pure..."it's okay as long as I can keep an eye on you"

    And then there's DAVE

Has Dave been given the Wolfie Ten Commandments yet?

Thou Shalt Not have chicks flash tits in front of Wolf etc, etc...

And most important..... How would you fellow parents handle this?

Being the father of 3, I can honestly say I wouldn't want any of my kids to Hit The Road for 40 days as a spectator, let alone onstage.

And 2 of my 3 have expressed a desire to be in the "performing arts"

Yes, the original CVH wasn't much older, but there's a WORLD of difference between 15 going on 16, and 18.

I just think it's a topic many of us can relate to.

    Dude wtf?

Valerie was a tv sensation at like age 16. I doubt she would be the type of mother who didnt want her son to follow in his Dads footsteps just cause he's 15.

Also i see ya added my quote to your sig. Awesome!

      No way in Hell.

Let my strung out alcoholic ex-husband take my 15 year old son along with his porn star girlfriend, on the road to teach that child how to destroy his life too?

      Aw, hell no.

Can't baby them forever. You can only teach them what you know, after that, it is up to them.

You are selling WVH short, don't you think?First off, you have no idea of their arrangement
              Perhaps, WVH has a brain
Perhaps he sees what the old man is all about, doesn't mean he will not keep his shit together
Besides, hollywood type people,do this all the time
If you think a father, even a drunk one, would let harm come to their kid, well, that's not what I see Edward doing. Besides, you have seen the video when spammy is horsing around with wolf after the conceert and Edward runs over and starts chasing fagar around the stage to kick the shit out of him
I am pretty sure Val knows what the fuck is going on

                Teenagers. [barely]

And I don't KNOW WTF Val thinks of this, but what little I know of her, and her current lrelationship with spED, I don't think she's thrilled with this.

I'm not selling anyone short other than spED.

It's a weird stiuation to throw your only child into the spotlight this way, and I personally couldn't do it.

Katie being the barren wasteland she is, will never face this issue.

Elly is dead on in my opinion.

                As for PENIX's take:

Being a star on a 70's sitcom, and touring the us with Van Halen comparing apples to origami.

Although her co-star MacKenzie Phillips was higher than a kite most shows.

I thing there's an age thing here ,too. I'm a fossil compared to many in here.

I think the only way Val could go along with it is if she's of the perspective that Wolf is a prodigy and that this would be good experience for him.

..and has given that more weight than the alcoholic dad on the road with son wrecking his life thing.

that kid has probably experienced more shit in his life already, than any concert tour could throw at him.

hell he prolly has some 20 year old sitting on his face right now.

im sure hes been exposed to drugs and alchohol and sampled quite a few.

im not saying, oh what the hell hes already on drugs so whats the difference.
these people are about nothing but money and finding new ways to feel better.
they dont give a fuck about whats right and whats wrong.
they will do whatever they can to make sure they get what they want and minimalize everything in thier minds to make it seem like a good thing.
that kid is headed for a life full of drug addiction and alchoholism,if hes not already there.
ps. sorry eddie but thats the truth, do your kid a favor and give him 10,000,000 dollars and send him to school as far away from your lifestyle as possible and he might be alright.

Some parents live through their kids. They want their kids to do what they didn't do.

Well, Eddie wants to use his son so that Van Halen is completely his. Dave is his ticket to introducing Wolfie.

That's bad parenting. Look what 30 years of touring did to Eddie Van Halen.

                          And so many other people.

Starting the kid off at 15/16 instead of ensuring that the kid gets a good education? What kind of friends his age can he hang out with on a tour with men in their 50s?

That is going to be one fucked-up kid.

This whole thing proves that not only does Eddie not respect the legacy of Van Halen, he's a pretty crappy parent too.

And don't forget, by having his kid out there, Eddie technically gets 50% of the band's take at the door. Didn't anyone think of that?

                            Thank you!

I've got a 16.5 year old (his words when you ask him his age)...I know how impressionable they are.

And so what if Ed were to have "cleaned" himself up, (as if?), the element that will inevitably be around Wolfie is enough for this mom to call halt on. There are going to be drugs, irrational fans, accidents, et. al that will be going on all around Wolfie all the time on this tour.

I have a friend who spent some time with the lead singer of another semi-popular band. The lead singer used to be a very handsome man so even though he looks like a pedofile now, he still gathers very aggressive fans in his time off. Well, one night a couple of years ago, he had his 9 year old daughter with him in a hotel after a show.

Here was this beautiful little girl curled up asleep on a sofa beside her daddy, and around him were willing women flirting, showing him body parts, and kissing him in the mouth. HE was blitzed on "E" and as drunk as fuck....bragging about all these girls taking advantage of a "drunk bloke" (his words). He then pulled one girl into his lap and proceeded to put his hand down the back of her pants to retrieve her panties. He was joking that he needed to see her thong.

Photos showed up on the net of this and in those photos...was the little sleeping babe right next to her drunken, has-been, old father....

Kids do NOT belong on tour with their parents.

We wouldn't be having this debate if we got an all original CVH reunion.
