    The Darkness

I saw a video of these guys last night.
It was hysterical, i dont know if they are serious or
just trying to have fun using every cliche in rock n roll.
    I couldnt stop laughing.
This guys voice had me rolling.

Kick ass band. The 500 post thread over at DDLR.COM proves that.

Is it only me that smells hype?

I don`t know how much coverage they get in the states but over here they get as much column inches as the latest boy band.

I don`t like having music forced on me.

Take the best cliches from every band you can think of then mass market it for kids who don`t remember the real thing.

I`m sorry but I don`t think they`re laughing with us but at us.

The Darkness show that it wouldn`t be that good to bring back the late 1980`s and that Nirvana did us all a favour.

I don`t think they will last very long as they have not left themselves any room for musical develpment.

There are lots more exciting bands doing original ideas, not trying to breathe life into a real life Spinal Tap.

        Recording a christmas song?

        That sucks a mean dick.

            They're serious.

Like Badguy says, lets see what kind of legs this band has. Who knows how many albums they'll be able to put out.

They're starting to get some buzz in the States.

Pick up the album, I like it. It took a couple of listens though.

Maybe the best way to put it is they're serious about having fun.

Darkness land on US album chart

UK rock sensations The Darkness have scored the highest-climbing album on this week's US chart, making their first appearance in the top 100.
Their album, Permission To Land, went from number 173 to 92 in one week on the Billboard chart.

The Darkness, a flamboyant rock group influenced by Queen and AC/DC, shot to fame in the UK in 2003, topping the album chart in August.

OutKast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below remained at number one in the US chart.

                    'Mindless'

The Darkness' jump comes as they begin to promote the album in the US, with an appearance on David Letterman's chat show on CBS lined up for Friday.

They are also due to make an appearance at the Virgin Megastore in New York's Times Square on Friday, according to Music Week magazine.

The New York Times has already said their music "sticks to the listener like hair gel" while the Los Angeles Times said they were "a little-bit-mindless but certainly-not-spineless".

Their album was the "pacesetter" on this week's Billboard chart - the title is given to the album with the biggest percentage growth every week.
